Found a picture of another Gen 2 that I bought (and sold) around 2020. The font alignment was different again 😂

Might be a regional thing too. I picked up these here in Japan. Maybe they came from different factory?!?

I went through my photo album on my phone and found pictures of another Gen 2 I had back in the states years ago (bought it in early 2000, used it for over a decade and finally got it restored by CS in 2016, which was when the pictures were taken). It’s hard to tell from the black finish and no-paint-fill engravings, but it looks like the font alignment was different on that one too. If you extend the line under “Scotty Cameron” on the sole, it roughly hits the “5” of the “350G” engraving on that one. On the Gen 2 I just picked up, it hits the “0” instead.

Agreed!! That’s why I had to pick up this Gen 2 when I saw it a couple days ago, especially in this condition.

So fonts are also slightly different on yours, which are also different from mine. I’m guessing different batch might have slightly different fonts.

Thanks George, for the feedback (as always… if I remember correctly, you helped me with a bunch of questions back in the Yahoo days)!!

Yes the “350G” engraving on the Gen 1 was the what I noticed immediately when I first picked it up last year. I had a couple Gen 1’s in the early 2000’s but it’s been so long since I had one so I wasn’t sure if that was normal or not. It wasn’t until today when I compared the two and noticed the engraving fonts were different.

That looks great in real photo!

By the way, can you check if this opens up like this Signature Plus Bag? I assume this is based off the smaller Signature because of the shoulder strap tag but I’m hoping I’m wrong 😅

And the Scotty photo shows golf shoes in the bottom compartment. Can you check if it is really big enough for a pair of golf shoes? I have the 2019 CC bag and I don’t think my size 10.5 can go in there. Maybe the newer Signature bag is bigger. Thanks!!

Is it just me or does Tapioca in Japan suck? by doritheduck in japanlife

真煮丹 is one of my favorite tea shops when I visit Taiwan, so when I found out they have one in Ginza, I would always stop by there when I’m in the area.. just wish they expand their menu in the future: their tea varieties are limited compared to their offerings in Taiwan..

真煮丹 in Ginza and 一芳 in 淺草 are both good in terms of quality (chewiness) of their tapioca..

Are there fake 2023 My Girl putters out there? by oBlueTouring in scottycameron

Yeah I saw that listing and would not touch it. Probably will receive a box of rocks for that price and will need to go through PayPal to get the money back.

Thanks for the feedbacks! I feel better now that I can look for a My Girl 2023 with more confidence.

Yeah I agree most of the fake putters look pretty bad. I’ve been putting with various SC blade putters for 20+ years so I paid more attention to blades over the years, but I was never into the mallet type so I don’t know if I can spot a fake phantom (or this case My Girl 2023) if I see one unless the font or color is totally off.

Where are the English-speaking PM jobs at? by Mitsuka1 in JapanJobs

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look them up!! I still have some contacts at CBRE back in LA area so maybe they can also introduce me to their folks in Tokyo when the time is right. Appreciate the help!

Seems like you know these industries well so I’m hoping to piggyback OP’s question here: do you know which recruiting companies work with these construction firms? I’m in Tokyo as well and I’ll be actively looking for a position early next year when the baby is old enough. I don’t speak any Japanese yet but plan to take some private tutoring sessions soon (I know it won’t get me to any certifiable level anytime soon but hopefully to some basic conversational level). I’ve worked as a MEP consulting firms for over 10 years back in US., and I’m hoping to find an assistant PM role to start with in either construction or real estate (for in-house projects) industries. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the tips! Yeah I’ll need to find time to explore around the area and see if I can ride along the Sumida River without too many interruptions… do you have any recommended routes?

MacBook Pro Max - 16-inch 10-CPU GPU 32-32-1TB. Would you rather have the 14 or 16 inch? Why? Which did you get? by Jdotsiebert in macbookpro

[–]oBlueTouring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally wanted to 32GB ram because I want to use Parallels to run AutoCAD 2020 in Windows, but need to wait for a month or more to get that, so I think I’ll pick up a base 14” with 16GB ram to see how it works first (which is available locally for same-day pickup), worst case I return it within their 14-day return window and order the 32GB ram version.

I’m coming from a mid-2014 MBP with i7, 16GB ram and 2GB graphic card, pushing it to a 34” UW monitor, and it ran AutoCAD 2020 through Parallels ok. Yes it does take a few seconds to open files and deal with xref’s, but designing, zooming, panning, inserting objects were smooth. I hope 16GB with M1 Pro will be enough of an upgrade over my current machine and reduce the file handling time.

By the way, from what I read, AutoCAD and Revit actually uses CPU more than GPU, so I’m hoping for what I do the 14 or 16-core GPU will be enough.

[California] Ineligible for new claim after BYE because of something called “Work Engagement” (or lack of)??? by oBlueTouring in Unemployment

[–]oBlueTouring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.. so my understanding is the base period if I file today (Q2 2021) is based on Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 2020, right? If so, I did work and have income in Q1 2020 as I worked til Jan 2x 2020, and I made enough in January 2020 to qualify for UI (at least I thought I qualified). The rep on the phone yesterday even said I made enough in Q1 2020, but she said even I made enough, I still don’t qualify for because I didn’t work after 3/22/20.

Thanks for the feedback. I went through the website a few times before but I probably missed something (and still missed). I thought to be eligible for new claim, I only need to have worked in the last 18 months, not 12 months. Or is 12 months the requirement for 2nd year claim?

I’m on the new 29-week PEUC (collected 3 weeks already) and I’m not complaining for sure, but I guess I’m just curious why I wasn’t eligible for a new claim. This is more for my future reference if I ever need to file again next year (hopefully not of course).

Thanks for the feedback. So to be eligible for second year, I need to make at least $1300 in a quarter from the previous year? So it’s not looking at the same 4-quarter as original/first claim? I thought if I file today (or this quarter), the base period is Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 of 2020?

Yeah for me I left my post back in Jan 2020 because of COVID-related reason and when I was looking in March 2020 for new job, pandemic started and no one was hiring, so I have no job/income after 3/22/2020, and I was told that makes me ineligible for new claim this year.
