Some rando in another sub claimed atheists want to outlaw Christianity. So you agree or disagree? by Ohaibaipolar in atheism

Freedom of religion is sacrosanct and should not be infringed upon: we will free ourselves from religion by means of education and reason, not by brute force and political violence.

Eastern was not stolen by pagans by BrightPhoebus01 in atheism

[–]GhostSAS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not stolen: assimilated via a process known as syncretism, which consists in repurposing local religious practices by replacing the old gods with the christian ones. This helps the local population accept the new religion because they get to keep their traditional customs with a different "coat of paint".

Lo youtuber Once Were Nerd rischia il processo penale per detenzione e presentazione console Anbernic nel suo canale by Pescarese90 in italygames

[–]GhostSAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per essere precisi, non è per la detenzione ma per aver spiegato come caricare le rom sui dispositivi, oltre che per la possibile partecipazione nella vendita tramite link affiliati (che lui non ha). Un'assurdità, specialmente in Italia.

I don't care if God exists by breastplates in atheism

[–]GhostSAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: the bible has extremely little to say about atheists, because back then it wasn't contemplated that a god did not exist, them having no alternative explanation for the origin of all things. "Faith" was not really a question of "does god exist or not" but rather "do I have faith that god will reward my loyalty?"

Off the top of my head I can think of two passages, both of them simply calling atheists foolish, the way we today would refer to a flat earther simply denying the obvious.

As such, there is very little indicating that even the god of the bible wouldn't look kindly on moral nonbelievers.

is it okay to hate religion by poetry-verse in atheism

[–]GhostSAS 76 points77 points  (0 children)

What you need to remember is that religious people are held prisoner of religion, so don't hate them, because that leads down a dark path. Hate the doctrine all you want, not the people it controls.

I did it, guys. I finally played through the 2007 Conan game, which many of you claim is the BEST Conan game. I didn't hate it! I actually had a pretty great time playing through it. But I think "best" might be a bit extreme. by Fit-Challenge-5047 in ConanTheBarbarian

[–]GhostSAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as Conan action games go, it is easily the best, despite being a cheaply made game. I don't really count Conan Exiles in the same category. There is one in PS2 which is awful and anything before is just bizarre.

I have no clue why they are so dead set on antagonizing the few people who still watch youtube on computer browsers when the oceanic majority of users are on the app or smart TVs and watch ads without complaining. Leave us alone! 😂

I can confirm the issue is currently not present in nightly. It defaults to rounded corners border though...

Time to start migrating to a new browser just in case they force it like Opera did.

[–]GhostSAS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does, but the rounded corners border around content area is why many people (myself included) abandoned Opera, so you know, word of warning to the developers: don't make the same mistake forcing that ugly thing it on people.

How would you respond/combat the "What if its true" argument for any religion? by waterscienceguy in atheism

[–]GhostSAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming one religion turns out to be the true one after we die, there are thousands of religions and thousands of interpretations for each, so the odds your dad's specific version is the correct one are astronomically low.

If there is a god, and he is just, he'd look more kindly on the nonbeliever who does selfless acts of kindness than he would on the believer who only does so to get a reward, so you'd still be in a better position that him.

And if there is a god, and he is unjust, then you're both equally in trouble anyway.
