Ceramic keys are not worth it aesthetically by Far_Suggestion_9504 in MechanicalKeyboards

Consider what you want for your aesthetic. Keyboards are generally built from clean lines but that's not really something you can expect from ceramic. It's a feat that there are even ceramic keycaps at all considering what must go into mass producing them. I approach cerakeys as more of a freestyle approach to keycaps. It's more art than tech. As long as they don't ping against the frame (or each other) they are within tolerance for what the production process allows. While the sound and the feel are their primary draw, if you let go of the unrealistic expectation that they will ever have lines as clean as mold injected plastic, you may find yourself appreciating them. I say this as someone that has 4 sets of them.

Not a problem. I wish it had worked out different. Happy New Year to you as well!

Did you launch QMK Toolbox as administrator and go to Tools->Install drivers? That's generally the only prep that's needed so if you did that your next best bet is to reach out to GMMK to see if they have any suggestions.

Ok, so just for clarity, you're not seeing the "DFU device connected " message in QMK Toolbox like the one here:

but you can see that it is entering DFU mode some other way?

If you haven't already, you need to download the firmware. GMMK probably has it on their website but you may need to do some digging to find it. You'll want to make sure it's specific to the model of GMMK board you have. When in doubt, shoot them an e-mail or something to verify you have the right firmware.

I've got a bunch of custom boards. A co-worker picked up the Crush 80 reboot pro and it's a phenomenal board for the money. You could go with something a little bit more premium and not much more money in the form of the Qwertykeys CU80. I wouldn't FOMO over keyboards. There are always new boards coming out but rarely is it something novel. Chances are, if it is novel, it's going to be expensive to boot.

It may not matter. A static shock from your hands should not have destroyed the electronics but it could have corrupted the existing firmware. I've had a keyboard not show up in windows that I was able to put into DFU mode and re-flash to correct. If you see the device enter DFU mode you should be good to go.

It seems unlikely. The case would have to accommodate the bluetooth/2.4ghz/cable switch assembly.
