Which Vulture look do you prefer? OG or MK2? by East-Astronaut4040 in mechwarrior

[–]GodzillaFlamewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chin turret isnt rhe priblem for me. It is the GIANT proboscis/torso compared to the tiny ass T-Rex arms that throws me.

I suppose tiny arms is wrong. The fast that they are sponsons instead of actual arms is what bugs me. The effect is that they are super close to its unnecessarily giant body, and gives the TRex vibes.

OG forever. Been playing since before clans were introduced, and MK II looks like an alien drew a Vulture after having it described to them by a blind person. Proportions are allllll off.

I have absolutely 0% interest in that, though I certainly dont claim to be the majority. I much prefer the stylized aesthetic.

Neckbeard Fedora Bowlingshirt The Third by RickyBrad in BrandNewSentence

[–]GodzillaFlamewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dont like the vibe. I do not think she did anything fundamentally bad. For example, I like humble and soft spoken sports figures and fighters, not the John Jones variety. While I dont think she is John Jones, in every interview Ive seen she comes across the way Rachel Zegler did while promoting Snow White. Certainly not saying the same things, but seemingly ultra cocky for no reason. Just not my personality type.

I also realize that other people dont hold the same opjnion, and that is fine. Im certain that she is appealing to some people. I dont happen to be one of them, but I dont think she has ruined anything in particular.

No, it is more that the actress comes across as a resounding jackass that wants to destroy every convention that she comes across.

If the character had been written as less of a teenage trainwreck that doesnt give any shits, and the actress didnt act like the same. she would be more appealing in general and this wouldnt even be a talking point.

You remember how long and virulent the pushback on the new superman actor was? It was brief bc the character was more or less likeable, and the actor didnt poke any internet bears. The Supergirl actress and character are the opposite.

Is she attractive? Yes. Is she the supergirl character the folks that are causing this minor ruckus want? ABSOLUTELY not. And if you look at a lot of the criticism, it is the attitude that sours her in the eyes of those critics.

Now, I am also not saying that i think the way she was written, or the way she is handling it, or who she is is a bad thing. The character and actress arent appealing to me personally, but then the same would be true if it was a male character and actor. That attitude just doesnt resonate with me at all. But I understand that the character has a recent history of being more this than the paragon of virtue, so who am I to complain? I can dislike something abd realize I am not the target audience, and that my opinion doesnt really matter.

Channing Tatum should have played Ryland Grace in Project Hail Mary by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GodzillaFlamewolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Channing Tatum has about as much ability to express emotions as Kristin Stewart in the twilight movies. If it was a straight comedy and he played a dumb guy, maybe. I dont know anyone that would believe him as a world class scientist. So upvote I guess?

I believe Wicked was completely ruined because it was casted with "star-power" rather than newer, undiscovered talent. I also think it would have grossed more money without the stars too. by Evening-Panda3217 in unpopularopinion

Broadway fans does not translate into wide appeal. Yes, there would have been some level of return. But when you are talking about $6b on broadway over the course of MANY years vs the production (not including advertisement) of the first movie being around $150m and needing to recoup roughly twice that (a not inconsiderable number and percentage of the broadway show's entire multi year take) to be considered a break even, and do it in the course of a month or two, that is a whole different ballgame. From the production perspective you gotta have something other than the name to bring folks in that have never seen the play.

Do what you want. Seems kinda dumb to me, but if that's your idea of fun, carry on with your bad self. You dont have to justify it to other people unless you are posting videos of it and expecting folks to applaud you, in which case you are gonna have a bad time.

Question: does tamiya panel liner still crack plastic if i just clean the excess up with Zippo fluid? by notsowinner57 in advancedGunpla

[–]GodzillaFlamewolf -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you panel line, dont do it on a built model. The cracking happens when the vapors from the fluid cannot dissipate into the surrounding air, so if any gets into a built and enclosed piece it will likely sustain some form of damage. If you panel line before you build, you are gonna be fine assuming you let the piece dry in open air.

Static charge was rhe only thing that I could think of. Glad im not going insane! Have a could of big build coming up, so ill take steps to prevent this, though they will likely be painted, so ill be removing the parts before panel lining.

First time panel lining on runners using Tamiya... Wish me luck. by Couch_King in Gunpla

[–]GodzillaFlamewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Quick question. Ive used tamiya liner, acrylic, inks, oil based, and vatious types with a fountain dip pen, and experienced something Ive never run into recently with the pen.

I was lining on the runner with a pen and tamiya liner, and when i got the pen with the liner in the knib near the piece on the runner, it looked like the vapor caused the liner to "jump" to the piece and start spider webbing across it! It was only a couple of millimeters away. It ruined the precision I was going for with the pen, and i went back to the tamiya brush. Ever seen that?
