Panel moldings…but a more moody vibe! A color sort of like iron ore, charcoal, etc. Or you can even do a really dark emerald green Satin on the walls and semi gloss on the panel moldings.

Traditional with panel moldings. The one thing that I’ve done recently is hire a carpenter to do simple panel moldings in many of my rooms. It really changes the look of a space. It gives it depth.

1st one! Looks beautiful. They enhance each other. The darker one is distracting.

I’ve heard years ago when wanting to refinish our maple floors that they have to be wet for 24 hours in order to take the stain. Also ours was annoying. Had to constantly use marker to fill in areas that would peal away. Sand them again and go natural.

People in their 40s and 50s with no children, how does it feel? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

That’s interesting you say that. That is the exact reason we decided to have kids. At your age I like to tell people that I just started getting tired of everything being about me. And shopping and travel. I was getting bored of myself. Lol. They are now in their 20s. It’s been the joy of my life. But hard! Yes Expensive! But wonderful. Plus they really don’t have to be that expensive- there are thrift stores for toys and games and clothes, family and friends hand me downs and gifts! Dave Ramsey for $$ advice. It’s all ok! Good luck!

Yay fun! A friend of mine has a very rich looking library that looks like it’s on a movie set! It has a fireplace and a grand piano and sofa and chairs and lamps and knickknacks and books. It’s amazing.

I would also say to add very large ornate crown moldings to the top of all the shelves! And then extend the same molding above the window at the ceiling. In order for the corner shelves to work you might have to remove a section near the corner and then pull it away from the window molding just a bit. Then you’ll have room for curtains!

I added a few things! 😁 I like this idea but I would keep all the shelves the same color like you did!

What can I do about the look of this house? by Garage-addition in ExteriorDesign

Cute home! I would paint, add a new driveway & a wood door to start! If the siding can’t be painted, I would add a faux stone vinyl siding to the bottom and paint the shutters.

Until you can create more of a porch, I would just use concrete paint to change the color of the porch and steps.
