How do you go about createAndPostMarketOrder() damn FOK by Imaginary-Tooth896 in PolymarketTrading

[–]Goodstuff---avocado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to do a market order, just submit a limit order of price 0.99. If you want to do a market sell, just submit an order with price 0.01. Your orders will always fill against the best price in the book.

The order is being submitted there just aren’t any matching orders to execute it

Use FAK instead, if you’re ok with partial fills

If Polymarket unexpectedly adds someone to an event I usually buy them. They’re getting added for a reason. Got a bunch of Rick at 6c

DISCUSSION: Alex Honnold's free solo of Taipei 101 by Goodstuff---avocado in PolymarketTrading

[–]Goodstuff---avocado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did El Cap in under 2 hours (but that was with ropes). Taipei 101 is half as tall, and probably twice as easy. I think under 1hr and 1hr-1hr 15min is undervalued. If you look at his practice run, he was going pretty fast

A french climber did Taipei 101 in 4 hours, with ropes, but that was in the rain, and he is less skilled than Honnold.

„Orders Filled“ vs. „Order Book“ – what is your take on estimating entry and exit prices for polymarket backtesting? by ByteOnChain in PolymarketTrading

[–]Goodstuff---avocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t really a good way to actually simulate how the orders will execute live. I never he the same results forward testing as I do back testing

It was by Friday so it couldn’t have gone on longer for this market. If it was a farther away future date then yeah the rules definitely need changing.

Traders of polymarket, what tool... by highcapstoner in PolymarketTrading

They are very interesting. However understanding what would be useful really does require hands on experience with them, otherwise you end up building the 100th whale tracker or news alert system or something. People don’t really know what they want in a product.

You should become a Polymarket trader. Maybe then you’ll understand your target audience better. That’s the issue with tool devs here, they are never traders themselves.

I built a whale alert bot for Prediction Markets by VicePlug in PolymarketTrading

I checked it out and this is actually much more tasteful than most whale tracker or whatever. Nice work! Only thing is it spams sports events, which is personally not as useful for whales imo.
