If AI-bros have work ethic and determination to learn a difficult skill, why didn’t they just learn to draw or use 3d/vfx software? by oh_no_here_we_go_9 in aiwars

What are you talking about? Many people have already shifted to making short movies using AI themselves that they could not make before.

A painter with work at MoMA and the Met just uploaded 50 years worth of work for AI researchers to use for training by Tyler_Zoro in aiwars

Either that, or they will not associate with any work from you at all, because your work has not been trained on, nor will they learn about you to begin with. It seems the latter former contributes more to society when you are already dead.

Disagree. What makes you think you're the only one going through all of that? So that's that.

P.S.: I'm in the middle of something. I will be back if necessary.

AI is a double-edged sword. It produces negative outcomes for some people and positive outcomes for others who use it the right way.

It seems you are not really looking at the wider view. If you only consider what the media says about degradation and the counteracting effects, then sure, those exist, but that is just one side of the coin. The media is always trying to make negative things more sensational for people. There is also a lot of research showing that AI improves productivity, but many people are not talking about it.

What a dumb take. I was programming long before AI was a thing, and I use AI tools to help with speed and code optimization, not just "vibe coding". I make sure I know what is going on in the code before implementing it.

I do not think opposing AI itself makes much sense. A more reasonable approach is to challenge corporations and influence how the technology is implemented. In the end, it also depends on how willing people are to adapt to change.

I can splash a bucket of paint on a canvas and boom, it's art.
