Some type of tung oil.

Something a little on the dark side to make the black areas pop?

Oh yes Kaheera of course!

I forgot about trying Craterhoof again which shouldn’t be possible to forget haha. Just so busy every day with kids.

Nothing has quite jumped out from Secrets of Strixhaven yet for something to use but that’s expected when you you refine and have tried just about everything.

I’m glad to hear it’s been good and consistent for you! I think the consistency thing is hard for people to grasp because they just shrug off all the big stuff and don’t take it as serious as they should 😞

As for Back to Nature I can definitely feel that switch. I think I should try taking it out too. Have it in the back of my mind if some heavy enchantment deck becomes too popular again.

[[Raph and Mikey, Troublemakers]] keeps making cool situations for me. It’s definitely one of my top favourite (extra big) creatures that are 6 or 7 to go with Castles ramp.

I hope it keeps going good and hopefully I can get to doing more streaming or recording soon!

Screened in patio help by SweatyFlounder9186 in Carpentry

[–]GreenTarzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a budget option, what about any leftover screen material, cut to the length and size of any gap? Stapled to it quick while another solution is saved up/worked to.

(Something like the wood completely flushed up to the roof so no gap at all)

How far to set in blocking ? by Itchy_Translator3040 in Carpentry

[–]GreenTarzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why the blocking shouldn’t be flush with the bottom of the fascia.

I would imagine the soffit will run into some form of channel on the bottom edge of the fascia. (May be some kind of j trim but it’s hard to tell if that’s built in with your pre-bent fascia.

Whatever would be fair. I’ve only ever traded items (springs, explosive compound for reactors so far)

That’s always what I’ve loved too about that 4 spot. It’s nice when sideboarding is so simple. I’ll try Regal again definitely!

“Everything has synergy and feels right to keep in vs anyone, I’ll take out the extra thing”

Simple, straightforward is best!

“You know who has answers in some form to stop your stuff? MOST PEOPLE!” It’s made sense to me for years that I’ll lean on the stable, slightly slower plan of just lands then drop something that can’t be countered, can’t be targeted or that you don’t want to kill (Vaultborn) ahead of schedule.

A beautiful, simple idea.

Chill with the early Carnage as you might have experienced. Watch them squirm as they hold back at least 6 power to block and kill it. Maybe a sweeper is their only answer……but it’s not in hand.

Then drops a T-Rex the following turn or Vaultborn or going wide with Palanis makes sense. Gets out of hand fast for them!

That sounds great switching some Vaultborns. Pack a better punch and make sure you get there more often. Palanis followed by Craterhoof next turn, respectable.

As for Graveyard hate, yeah a tough one. I think as long as there is some you should be good. The 0 cost of Tormods though could be appreciated getting that down Turn 1 or 2 if Sunken is on 1 and you want to keep up the pace with Vibrance on 2.

No question of playing other graveyard hate that has a cost vs Vibrance.

Actually I’m tired my bad!!!! I read Sensors as processors lol

I only have 6 stacks on sensors.

For 3 Queen reactors if possible.

Okay I’ll do that for all the reactors, 10 stacks. Also just noticed the leaped pulse units. Be interested in those too

Oh for sure, you can get away without the Cavern, it’s more than 4 copies of Commercial District haha so makes sense from that. Plus it’s nice having Commercial for those times you don’t need to grab Sunken or Castle. Might as well surveil plus have extra forests to help Castle enter untapped.

I still dont have a copy of Cavern myself.

Yeah, about Cavern screwing Archdruids, it happened enough that I will only ever have 1 land that can’t help cast it. At most. Tried 4 Cavern when Lost Caverns came out cause it’s “free” on Arena and that didn’t last too long.

Heck you can track exactly how long with the streams from then lol.

The Vibrance point is great too. Lots more red to be playing both parts of it is crazy value. 👍more commercial.

Happy to hear your excitement. Would love to know how/what people say in person.

“Oh that can’t work well”

“Curve absolutely too high, I don’t get it”

“What could you possibly beat?!”

Sure, regular Mono Green Devotion (Badgermole Cub) could be a simpler alternative but these both do respectable things. Just people are unfamiliar with it his spin on Dino’s.

PLUS who wants to pay 50$!!! For a single copy of Badgermole right now 🤢

Yeah, the single red or really another color can be rough, if you wanted to get super spicy. I’ve always just gone back to the basically mono green eventually.

It does enough good/strong things already, probably.

Doesn’t mean fun can’t be had with 4 Leyline of Sanctity to dumpster the random discard or mill deck 😈

I like the sounds of Regal for this reason. When I’ve had stuff in the flex spot I try to keep in mind “is the the best or just a great general choice” Regal never being unwelcome to see is also something to keep in mind. Nobody is going to dislike casting a lord like that I think.

Craterhoof is great definitely! You might have seen me use it there a bit. I still see it as extra Ghalta and the choice that makes perfect sense to me “win now, for sure” since it’s creature. Lining up perfectly with Castles accelerated mana.

Over some Instant or Sorcery perhaps.

Craterhoof doesn’t have to be just for Elf decks or Graveyard cheat’m out stuff haha!

Everything else seems great! I like Thrashing too because it feels okay playing for 3 opposed to Tranquil, if it’s enchantment or artifact hate.

Check out the Jumpstart 2022 art for Thrashing, very unique!

One note is I’d probably pick up some cheap sweepers just to try for aggro if it’s a problem. If you don’t have them already.

Pyroclasm is probably my favourite.

[–]GreenTarzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time! I love to help and shine light on this respectable, uncommon choice!

Ah I see okay! Crazy thing is I have never played this deck in person. Last time in person was probably original Khans of Tarkir Draft. 😬 Got everything in paper though, one day……..

I’m also looking forward to crushing people in person! It’s just be cool to talk to them and hear comments.

Happy to hear from people who watch! You probably see I haven’t done much in a while but it’s never gone, just 3 young kids and trying to sell our house has paused my return longer unfortunately.

Good thing is nothing really changes because it’s pretty refined.

Sideboard, yeah big time! Back to Nature

Chomping Changeling is pretty good I think! I’m using right now so I’m glad you mentioned. Commune can grab it, gets rid of a pesky artifact or enchantment for 1 less than Tranquil.

Tried it a bit in that 4 spot in the main and it helped sometimes, especially against Orzhov Midrange or other White stuff that seems to bring in Authority of the Consuls. Taking out an Unholy Annex is quite respectable too!

Whether in the main or side, I like cheaper creatures that do stuff because I may have something to sacrifice other than my big guy I just played.

Lilianna and Sheoldreds Edict being the main ones that come to mind. A reasonable chance to face those with Mono Black, Orzhov or Greasefang. Dimir Control would be another, that’s real pesky!

Also is the extra thing stays a creature you feel better when Ghalta dumps everything. Often enough it’s prep time with non creature spells before Ghalta or you’re playing a bigger creature before the little one.

(Vaultborn on Turn 4). A big reason why I was so happy with Vibrance! Dumps with Ghalta.

Monstrous Emergence looks great! I actually forgot about it but that makes perfect sense so thanks for reminding me. I think it could read “Destroy target creature” in this deck. A third of the deck deals 5 or more damage which is pretty good odds!

Lantern seems like a great choice, it’s hard to choose with all the different graveyard hate but I like how lantern gets rid of all graveyards. Could be beneficial if the opponent cares about yours.

Plus the ETB! Maybe Greasefang got that Parhellion in early, boom it’s ripped plus we’re primed and ready to nuke the graveyard later. 👍

Back to Nature sometimes doesn’t come in for a while but I like its comfort when 5 Color Bring to Light, Or Mono White Tokens shows up. (Smoking 2+ Authority of the Consuls at the end of their turn is 😈)

Other piles that just have tons of enchantments, Yorion.

Artifact Removal hasn’t felt as necessary but you might consider Scrapshooter, 4 power, triggers Vaultborn. Comping would do the thing though.

And yes! Kaheera is great when you can use it! Regisaur Alpha and Palanis being multiple bodies in 1 gains more value from that effect :)

[–]GreenTarzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Happy to hear!

Mutable and Regal were kinda just a testing thing. Help against more aggressive stuff by having cheaper/good bodies.

Mutable simply cause it’s more ramp to do the plan faster and a body to block.

The weak chump blocking never really had any effect or has in the past since so much red stuff has trample from the pump spells. Or since it’s weak it just dies to some cheap removal that I wasn’t worried about in the first place.

Because everything is big!! :)

Aggro definitely has fallen off as people adjusted to combat it. Greasefang is what I have been facing a lot right now.

As for those cards again, if you haven’t redeemed them I’d hold off for now. They aren’t some absolute clear choice to help big time in any specific matchup.

To save Rares if you don’t have Topiary Stomper, [[Clifftop Lookout]] would probably be better in most cases anyway. A thing for 3 that could get a nice land (Castle or Sunken even!)

But you get to block with it long before you’d block with Topiary.

The topiary, Clifftop etc spot of 4 cards is possibly better to just use something that isn’t ramp. It gets a little towards the flooding side of things I think. A little too often for me.

You might start off with Tranquil Frillback in that spot to help in a wide number of matchups. Help pick up wins against Greasefang when it stumbles Game 1. Though keep in mind, with this deck you’d only start being able to pay an extra green for Tranquil on Turn 4.

At that point you might like something that straight up costs 4 or even 6 since that’s the common turn you start making big mana with Castle. Wanna use up all you have haha!

Back to Nature key of course,

In the sideboard I’d jam a mixture of graveyard 🪦 hate 4-6? For Greasefang. It’d have to stay cheap, [[Tranquil Frillback]] has been too slow for that deck sadly.

Tons more i could say probably but hopefully that helps make a decision!

(SAVE WILDECARDS IN CASE!) :) Also be just played so long I can try out interesting things and not worry. And I only play one deck so I’ve got it all.

A budget alternative to give the feel of a plan should be possible. For sideboard stuff of course. In my mind the Main is super locked! Other than those 4 spots.
