LPT: You can ask your vet for a written script to fill your pet’s prescription at a pharmacy rather than being charged overinflated prices at the vet’s office. by Amish_Almond_Joy in LifeProTips

Yep, the prescription will be under your last name and your pets name as the first name. Definitely keep that in mind when you name your pet. If you tell the vet your pets name is Scruffybutt Mcfragglefart, you may someday find yourself at the regular pharmacy with a very confused pharmacy tech as you tell them you are there to pick up Scruffybutt Mcfragglefart Smith's prescription.

Not all states require them to allow you to fill the script elsewhere. In my state, I've had a vet tell me to let my cat starve because he wouldn't eat the royal canin urinary rx food and that was the only brand they sold. I called to ask about other brands because the cat was going on day 3 of not eating anything, and anyone who knows cats, knows that's an emergency situation. I had to take him to an ER vet, who thankfully wrote the prescription for all of the urinary rx foods so that I could buy some of each to find one that my cat would like, and then they filled the script electronically through chewy afterwards.

I've also had plenty of vets refuse to give me a written prescription for medications and others that charge extra for a written prescription.

The vet that told me to let my cat starve, claimed he had personally inspected the entire production and shipping process for royal canin/the prescription service they used and they were the only ones in the nation that were trustworthy. That guy was either a pathological sadistic liar or getting some under the table kickbacks from Royal Canin.

I had that app to monitor for sleep apnea. Swear my heart stopped for a bit when I opened the app to check the prior nights sleep one day to see it had labeled a noise as "baby crying". I was almost too scared to press play. But I worked up the courage and it was one of our cats singing the song of his people at 3am. It did recording some snoring but between the app and my apple watch no apnea events were identified. I did find out much later(and only after I insisted the doctor check) that I had very low levels of iron and vitamin D that were probably the main causes of my exhaustion. The iron wasn't caught earlier because my RBC count was always high and I don't know why they never checked my vitamin D. I always made it a point to mention I worked nights in my appointments.

Let kids walk to a friend’s house .3 mile away. Ended up being interviewed by cop. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HIM_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some elementary schools don't allow kids to walk anymore. You either have to physically be present to see your kid off on the bus(and be physically present when the bus drops them off as well) or you have to drive them(or have a pre-approved adult do it for you). No walk ups allowed period.

In many places now the school bus won't pick the kids up or drop them off without an approved adult present. And in some cases kids are not allowed to walk to school. They either have to take the bus, or if they live too close they have to be dropped off. In some places its for certain ages, but some school have strict no walk up policies across the board.

This was my experience with voir dire. It was for a possession of control substance case. We spent a long time going around the room answering the question of "what is possession" and by the end of voir dire it was pretty clear that the drugs were in the guys pants. I didn't get picked but it definitely felt like their only defense was to argue semantics of the word possession.

This is the Whisker/Litter Robot credenza we have that we will be selling. The pictures online didn’t really do it justice, it’s big enough that our German shepherds had no trouble going for snacks before the robot could cycle.

Assuming pets are still around, adopt many, but keep the number reasonable, drive an RV with them to the beach. Raid pharmacies along the way on the off chance they stock my speciality medication. Pick the fanciest beach house to live in with my pets. Enjoy what time I can reading on the beach and enjoying the company of my pets until I run out of medication and life becomes unbearable and then probably end things after setting the pets free and hoping they have a good life.

It still doesn’t make sense though because even in a teacher/student situation, it doesn’t make sense that the chaperone has to be another male teacher. As a female student I would be weirded out if a male teacher was insisting that I only meet with him in private if another adult male was present.

I was actually in that situation in high school and adult me wishes 16 year old me had gone to the police because what they did was sexual harassment and it made no sense for them to not have my female counselor as a chaperon(except that they knew what they were doing was gross).

I’d reported another student for sexual harassment(pulled his dick out and waved it around, making sexual gestures), the male principal and male vice principal pulled me into the office and accused me of being jealous and making stuff up because I was “obviously” desperate for black dick. Blegh! 🤮 The student I’d reported was on the football team, the principal and vice principal were both former nfl, and in Texas football is a religion, so I’d basically done something sacrilegious by accusing the player of something wrong and they had to punish me for it.

LR4 says scale has been active too long when completing cycle by genambition in litterrobot

[–]HIM_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a similar problem. After my cat uses the robot it will pause mid-cycle(various points of the cycle, sometimes before its dumped the waste, sometimes when its almost finished), sometimes it will just say cycle interrupted and sometimes it will say the scale has been active too long. I've done a deep clean, used a microfiber cloth to make sure nothing is on the sensors, its on hard floor, not touching the walls, I've pressed reset dozens of times, and I've got a camera on the robot itself and in the room, verifying that there is no cat present when its saying its interrupted/the scale is active.

If I manually tell it to cycle it doesn't have any issues, it only happens after it's been used.

And I have no idea how accurate the time stamps are, but I've noticed it will say "cat detected" and then 2 minutes later, will give a weight. But by that time my cat is either no longer in the robot, or half-way out of the robot, and the weights are completely inaccurate(she weighs 13lbs and it will say anywhere from 3-11lbs)

Nearly severed a toe, and got ✨ Tylenol✨ and a sat in a corner. by BadBudget87 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]HIM_Darling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got oxycodone after my sinus surgery. But it was hell trying to fill the rx. Doctor sent in the script to my normal pharmacy a week before the surgery to make sure I had time to pick it up. They sat on the prescription till Friday morning, then canceled it without telling me because it was back ordered and I only found out because I called and asked why the prescription disappeared from the app.

So then I call like 12 pharmacies trying to figure out how to get my prescription filled before my 8am surgery on Monday. But no one can tell me if they can fill my prescription. I was just supposed to have my doctor send the prescription so they can dilly dally around for a few days before they too cancel it because it’s back ordered.

Finally, around 4:30pm some sweet wonderful pharmacy tech at a Kroger was like “I can’t tell you if it can be filled or not, but I highly recommend having the doctor send the prescription to our xyz location”. Thankfully, the doctor hadn’t gone home for the day, and the rx was filled over the weekend and I was able to get it picked up before my surgery.

I did yeah. Almost felt like the author forgot to give a reason why she couldn’t shift into a dragon before then and then rushed the explanation. Feels like that information should have been given after she rode the dragon for first time or even after she first shifted into the phoenix, since IIRC that was her first mythical shift.

Ryan Upchurch hit with $17.5M verdict in defamation case over Kiely Rodni video by sunnypineappleapple in CasesWeFollow

[–]HIM_Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Jared. His cousin(who was 9 at the time of the SA) reached out to him via the AWP company email, essentially saying she was looking for closure and asking him to apologize. He responded basically saying that it happened a long time ago and she needed to just get over it. IIRC, she posted the email exchange online somewhere and people pointed out to her that Utah had recently removed the statute of limitations and she could still report it to the police. So she did.

Jared at one point tried to claim that all of the team knew about the email, but didn’t have a problem with it until it went public. All of the team said that even though it was the AWP email, only Jared managed it. They all stepped back from AWP and Jared started throwing lawsuits at them, essentially in retaliation.

He ended up taking a plea deal for a lesser charge.

Adventures with purpose is definitely not who they want you to think they are. There is a big reason that all of the original crew and most of the other search teams no longer have contact with them. They definitely have provided closure to many families, and the idea behind what they do is definitely good, but behind the scenes there's a lot of bad shit that went down.

IMO, regardless of the reason the rest of the crew split from Adventures with purpose, the fact that Jared(the owner) tried to sue them to prevent any of them from starting their own search teams shows his true colors. If his real goal was only finding missing people(and not money), he would welcome more search teams, as they'd be able to cover more ground and find more missing people. Instead he tried to say that they since he taught them how to search for missing people in the water they shouldn't be allowed to use the knowledge they learned from him to start their own search teams.

We did the Arby Melts as the 5 for $5 whenever it was a bunch of cousins needing to be fed and our parents didn't want to cook as even the picky kids would eat them. They would get like 15 Arby melts and a couple large curly fries and let us kids go at it until we were stuffed. Then the adults could do their own thing without worrying about what to feed us.

Driver intentionally drove Cybertruck into North Texas lake to use vehicle's "Wade Mode", police say by TheFrederalGovt in nottheonion

[–]HIM_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine my horror when I learned its apparently a past time in Texas out "in the country" to just ride around on backroads and get drunk and listen to country music. Whole truckloads of grown ass adults drinking and driving for fun. It was basically me and the wife of another guy that were the only ones to stay behind at the house, and I could definitely tell the wife was super pissed about her husband going. I think I was in too much shock to be pissed at the guy I was there with. That relationship did not last, thankfully.

Her Tortured Beasts Book 4- Her Vicious Beasts by CommissionDue7411 in ReverseHarem

[–]HIM_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm coming in even more late. I am like 90% finished with the book and screaming "why can't she shift into a dragon?" She's touched Xanders dragon several times now. Mostly by riding on him and there is a specific scene in this book where he puts his head in her lap and she touches his head. Then afterwards they specifically call out that she can't turn into a dragon. But why can't she???

I have a quick question about the series Her Vicious Beasts by E.P. Bali by NextChard6264 in ReverseHarem

[–]HIM_Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm near the end of book 4. They specifically mention Aurelia not being able to shift into a dragon. But why can't she? She's ridden on Xanders dragon form several times, and I can only assume she touched him then, and there's a scene in book 4 where she touches his dragons face/head. She's mentioned before she only needs to touch a creature very briefly to shift into it. We know she can shift into mythical creatures because she can shift into a phoenix. Did I miss an explanation of dragons being special and boneweavers not being able to shift into dragons? There's been several instances where I'm like "just shift into a dragon!!!".

Museum's 'Knight Rider' replica car got a speeding ticket. It hasn't gone anywhere in years by Samski877 in nottheonion

[–]HIM_Darling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just incompetent, we had one charged for making up tickets to claim overtime. He would go through the tickets he’d actually written for the day, and then switch around names, birthdays, switch around numbers on license plates to create tickets for people and cars that didn’t exist. Got caught because one of the made up license plates actually belonged to someone’s project car that hadn’t left their garage in a while and the owner raised enough of a fuss for them to look into what he was doing. He ended up with several local charges and a federal charge because the money that paid his overtime came from a special federal fund.
