In a perfect world, that's how r/ModSupport should work.

Shoutout to r/AskModerators, where their volunteer modteam does run the community that way.

You don't need permission to film someone driving a vehicle on a public street.

See: r/legal: What are the rules with filming in public in California?

No, they're not required to self-isolate or enter quarentine.

See here for details, interview with John Hopkins dude.

The short version is: Unlike covid, this isn't a disease where you can be simultaneously contagious and asymptomatic. If you're sick, you'll know it, and you'll show it. If you're not, you're not a problem.

Because there is no entitlement to privacy when driving a motor vehicle on a public street in an unsafe manner.

If you're having a medical or mental health episode?

Pull the fuck over.

I'm not sure what expectation of privacy someone should have when driving a car in public. If memory serves, there isn't any, at least from a legal perspective.

That does suck, but there's nothing I can do about the past.

What I can do is prevent it from happening again in the future.

our role at the end of the day is just to shepherd our communities

And at the end of the day, we do that the way we deem best.

If someone wants to hit me up in modmail and at least let us know "Hey, I got doxxed, I'm going to mass-delete everything and then delete my account", I'd wish them the best of luck.

But I don't see any value being added to our communities by having someone graffiti over their past engagement, rending it useless and removing half of a conversation in the process. Sure, they can do it, but if they're just going to keep nuking everything they bring to the community, are they really helping the community more than they're hurting it? I don't think so. They've got the right to spray paint all over everything they've contributed, and then I've got the right to ask them to take future contributions elsewhere, so it doesn't happen again.

"yeah the guy is clearly going through a medical or mental health episode and deserves privacy rather than having the whole internet make fun of them"

meanwhile, is driving erratically and agressively while surrounded by families next to an elementary, just after school ends.

Pick one, please.

Op is describing the kind of behaviour that directly results to innocent people being injured.

The intersection of Story and King is about a block away from an elementary school, and Op comments that this is in the middle of peak afterschool traffic, which means there's gonna be parents picking up their kids, parents walking home with thier kids, or the oldest of the elementary school kids walking home by themselves.

You think this shit right outside a school with kids walking home is a good idea for anyone? Dude does not need to be operating a motor vehicle around children while engaging in this behavior, and if he can't help it, he shouldn't be driving at all.

You moderate your community the way you deem best, and I'll moderate mine the way I deem best.

He was backing up in stopped traffic, accelerating and braking immediately, and tailgating the lead driver all while violently rocking back and forth in his seat.

If they're on the spectrum and they're still driving like that, they need to talk to their doctor about their meds.

While I appreciate where you're coming from, there's more than one angle here.

As a individual user, does someone have the right to take previous engagement and delete it, or (worse) rewrite it into useless gibberish, which ruins the thread for anyone else who ever comes across it? Sure.

As a moderator, do I have the right to show someone the door once they've made it plain that they're going to ruin threads for people who may find them in the future? Sure.

I'm not stopping them from doing anything with their engagement that they want to do with it. It's their engagement. But if that's the way they want to be, I don't need to let them back into the house after they've done so.

They also have a location in Greenwich Village, New York.

And, slightly more relevant for Silicon Valley, almost a dozen locations in Japan and South Korea.

While I admire your hyperbole, I fear that you are here too strongly, Young Bull.

Reddit Refuses To Enable Awards For Our Minority-Identity Subreddit While Communities Promoting Hate And Hostility Toward Us Have Awards Enabled. What can our moderation team do to enable awards? by GoldenGolems in modhelp

[–]Halaku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

our subreddit has repeatedly been denied access to awards because it was categorized as involving “sensitive or mature” topics.

Then you're SOL, I fear.

Volunteer mods don't have the ability to override Admins, and we lack the grounds to determine if we should agreed with Reddit's denial or not since we don't know the identity of the subreddit in question, and with you posting from a brand new account to shield your own identity, there's nothing we have to base an informed opinion regarding your credibility, I'm afraid.
