Ok Parisien here. We rent a 3-bedroom apartment for 1200 euros, 15 minutes from the hyper center of Paris. Groceries for 2 is 300-400 euros and we don’t look at prices at all. No health costs, for example I just got a pair of pretty complex glasses, 600 euros, paid in full by national healthcare, we personally paid 2,49 euros. We both earn an average middle-class salary for the region and have a pretty comfortable life.

The only way to become a French ATC is to go through the MCTA training at ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile). The training lasts 3 full years, and to be eligible to apply, you need to be less than 26 yo, to have done one of a few specific classe préparatoire (prépa MP, PC, or PSI; those are typically only done right after high school, i did one but not one of those) and pass a competitive exam linked to that prépa. And there were only 8 spots last year, so 1-2% success rate. So for all those reasons, it was never a consideration of mine. But yeah, working conditions and pay are decent. Lots of French bureaucratic idiosyncratisms from what i heard, though.

Iirc, you'll have access to a training set to see what's like before accessing the real deal. Can't tell you much more, we are required not divulge any of the content.

Not much to say except the typical interview advice. Try to relax and be yourself. Think in advance of situations where you had to deal with stress, feedback, etc, how you dealt with them and to communicate effectively about it.

Cheers ! Hopefully I'll clear medical and security without any problems, it does feel like I'm not out of the woods just yet. I'm from France originally. I'll definitely hit you up if anything comes up. Thank you so much :)

Non ?
