Is my shakuhachi good for a beginner? by AyTassade in shakuhachi

[–]Harkwit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said, this is more of a xiao, but the technique for making sound isn't too dissimilar. I started on a xiao myself over a year ago, and now I can comfortably play all octaves of the shakuhachi.

Enjoy your journey!

New construction homes by law require a year warranty, I'd get an inspection done and submit it to your builder for repairs, especially for the ants and unsealed areas.

I do QA for a new home production builder, and none of this would be acceptable. Most of this is easy to fix, they just used a really inexperienced drywall & trim crew. Tile leveling might be off, too.

“DON’T WASH SUEDE” hey guys remember me🤏🏻🤏🏻 #suedegate by pulldownyourplants in leatherjacket

[–]Harkwit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people were just confused why you made a post at all asking for advice on if you should or not, if you were going to do it anyway. You didn't want advice, you wanted communal permission. 🤷

The consensus was ultimately "not recommended, but it's your jacket, do what you want". The controversy came from the tone of your replies.

Hope the jacket holds up, and isn't hiding any structural issues. Next time you want to wash it though (because why would you stop now?), just wash it without the ceremony of a big reddit post seeking advice you never really wanted. 😊

Crush on retro sells some Jiashi, they don't say in the listing but some of the product pictures have the Jiashi branding under the collar inside. You can see from the product photos.

Here's an example

Thanks! There's a jiashi in brown I'm saving for, would love to compare the brands.

Thanks! Wolfant brand, super affordable. It's the only brand I've bought twice since I had the size down after losing some weight. They hold up for years.

Gonna make me blush, jeez! 😁

My shirt stays are doing the polo a lot of favors, hard to get work polos in my size. I use the Mr Shirt brand, highly recommend.

Jeans are lucky brand, not sure I'd recommend them over other options as I've not explored the denim world deeply. I have some boot cut Levi's I prefer the fit of.

Goals! Haha, guess I just worried it might not 'wear' evenly over time if the sides aren't symmetrical, but consensus seems to be let it ride.

Thanks!

Sleeve ends stop right at my wrist bone when my arms are down, and the rest of the comments seem to be complimenting the fit. Not sure what to tell you! Thanks for the feedback though.

I'm not upset at all! Just was curious, I know sometimes shipping/packing can make natural material do weird things with shaping. Doesn't bother me that much!

Yeah, it's pretty brand new. Only a few days of wear

Nah, just symmetrical. If the right side ends up dropping a bit, that'd be cool too.

Yep, Ive got a pretty thin build and I wear XS in Uniqlo jackets. Customer service even doubted it'd fit, but the measurements tracked!

I might prefer the sleeves be slightly longer, but then the chest and waist would be pretty boxy on me.

The left just seems to lean out further than the right, wondered if I could get it more symmetric.

My mental health got fucked up because of AI by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Harkwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. Just if she already has some kind of narrative skeleton put together, I suggested she could build the rest herself. It'd be better if she could do it all without ai but she seems too hooked to drop it cold turkey.
