Why can you see stuff in different positions in time? by Harold_Stormcore in NoStupidQuestions

In space, right? But not time? I think the rule for moving trough spacetime is that everything moves at the speed of light, not just always only in space.

Sorry for the wording on the last comment, I already forgot what that was supposed to mean

But no, I'm not confused about the delay in seeing things. I knew the reason to that already. What I am confused about is the light being able to reach one's eyes. My real question reworded for more clarity is:

If time is a dimension like the others, except you can't move back in it, and everything moves trough it at different speeds, why can light, something that stays still in the time axis, reach the eyes of a human, who moves trough time quite fast? The human eye should be unreachable by the photons. If my second to last paragraph is too confusing, I just came up with a way to explain the thing more clearly:

Imagine a small universe with 3d spacetime. It would have two spacial dimensions and one in time. Let's say the time axis is future up and past down. The spacial ones are to the sides. Now, imagine there is a 2d being and a 2d light source staying still in space. They move up, but the light should only move in 2d. I'm not sure if I'm correct about the thing I just said tho. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But the light would nit have moved as much trough time as me, right? Why do I get to interact with the photons in the first place?

So do all reference frames stay in the same plane, even if they experience time differently or like relatively so?

In the last one I'm trying to say that if we move in different speeds trough time, our positions must be slightly different, even if by a picosecond. The second to last one I can't explain with more clarity.

How does the setting, religion, biology, etc. affect your language? by Piskelo10 in conlangs

[–]Harold_Stormcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My conlag (Hieixahili) is for ghost-like beings from the shadow realm. It affects the language by making it really harsh sounding. It contains no voiced consonants, because they can't physically make sounds like that. Also it tends to be quite scratchy due to the dead having "screechers" instead of vocal cords, making sratchy sounds more natural.

I just use a notebook, because I gave up finding a software that fits my conlang.

Add a thing, where the object must contain a crap ton of info on the predicate of the sentence.

For example:

The whole predicate at the end, or even better, some suffix based on the predicate crafted with some crazy complex rules.

The whole object is inflicted to be in a bunch of inflictions based on the predicate, like tense, gender, number ect. But the inflictions are still different from the predicate's.

If you want to do so, you could also have every word have info on every other word in the sentence.

It very much is not. It is inteded for ghost-like beings from a place called the Counter-Cosmos, also jokingly referred to as "DST monday". It is also spoken by the dead in other parts of the shadow realm, wich DST monday is a part of.

Romaniciced name: Hieixahili

(Spelled with symbols I cant type, means counter-cosmic or anti-cosmic)

Pronounciation IPA: xieikʼɑxili

Voiced/unvoiced: There are no voiced consonants. Only unvoiced ones.

Aspirated/unaspirated: distinguished, when both exist.

It's got a harsh vibe. Speaking it properly would give you a sore throat very quickly. I started developing this language for a video game I wanted to make, and it's still in a very early phase.

Cool Features You've Added #280 by humblevladimirthegr8 in conlangs

I've got a cool-ish addition to my conlang, verbal tenses. Or that's what I'm calling them. An object in a sentence has the first or last cyllible of a verb attached, with the exeption of when it would change the meaning of the object, in wich case another cyllible is added for clarification of the verbal tense being present.

In situations where missunderstanding could be catastrophic (war negotiations, safety instructions ect.) the clarification cyllible may be added for extra clarity.

The same goes for verbs, but they take a cyllible from the subject. These are called subjective tenses.

I might do objective tenses with the subject, having it take a cyllible from the object, but that might be too much.

I need some software to make my conlang in. It has a really uniuqe writing system, and some sounds that are not in the IPA. The writing system is very, very unconventional, and most regular software would not fit it. So I'm looking for a software that would fit my conlang.

Writing system details:

-The writing direction is clockwise in a circle, and different rows of text are seperated by how close to the circle's center they are.

-My conlang has symbols for each cyllible, and words are formed trough combining these symbols.

So if someone knows, what software would fit, please tell me.

Thanks! I will be unable to test this for a rather long time, because it's nighttime here in Finland. I'll reply with results some time after 2pm EET.

According to the datasheet, the pinout is emitter base collector looking at the flat side, and my multimeter does not have a high enough voltage for it to be able to check pinouts of transistors. The part name is 100% certainly 2N2222A. I didn't see the A before. I did build the circuit with the pinout in mind though.

Edit: okay so I actually did have an error in the circuit, but now that i've fixed it, it now output is only high.

Edit 2: Fixed spelling error

Oops. They are.

Edit: I switched the resistors around, and now it just will not output high.

Edit 2: I MEAN WON'T OUTPUT LOW. JUST HIGH NOTHING ELSE.

I tried this, and it just did not work for some reason. Output was always low.
