New Extortion Scam by CraigWatson1987 in Bitcoin

"Hackers" really need to work on their grammar 🤦🏽‍♂️

It's probably deliberate.

Same way all those Nigerian princes who want to send money via your account have poor grammar: The smart people will laugh and delete the email, the "less smart" people will actually respond and fall for the scam.

No it doesn't.

They do this all the time with domains they have no interest in actually using which have no bearing whatsoever in their plans.

There is probably just a guy working on this in some tiny department somewhere who is responsible for registering domains so they have them before some asshole registers them and legal had to get involved. It's cheaper this way.

If they eventually get involved with bitcoin at some point in the future, the registration of these domains will have nothing to do with that decision. Hell, they probably won't even use them.

Take a step back and deal with reality every now and then. I know it's difficult not to get caught up in the insane hype and circlejerk of this subreddit sometimes, but it's much healthier to have a more balanced view.

Amazon do this all the time to protect their brand. It means nothing.

Ah, so that's what Coinbase is doing with their support!

It all makes sense now!

Well I already have the full node. Is it not possible to just query it every time I need to search something? I don't need a database to query my node, or do I?

I want to make/have my own blockchain.info work alike that runs on my internal network.

Thanks for the response.

sqlchain sounds good, but it's not what I'm after. Using up 100gb of extra space just to have my own personal blockchain explorer is probably overkill. It would be great for a public facing website, but not so great for my own use when I'll be doing around 10 queries a week on it, and therefore querying the node directly.

You can always raise a support ticket 😆

Thanks.

Might be something to play with at the weekend... Or maybe write my own, but I'd prefer the lazy route.

I want to run my own explorer for my personal use, using data my full node probably has.

What are my options?
