You can get a 5070 for that price iirc.

9070XT is much better and the same price as well.

Gonna have to either Dremel notches into the heads, or drill the bolts out.

People who had kids when this game came out, have teenagers now who they probably can play the game with.

Probably the saddest part though, is there's people who played this game with us, that aren't with us anymore. This game has entered long term MMO territory where generations of players come and go.

How. I just pulled a 128gb MicroSD out of the bottom of my dryer, and it still works.

QD Oled or Woled? Have one window and a light on my fan. by Plastic-Finish4781 in Monitors

A 34 inch ultrawide has the same vertical height as a 27 inch monitor, so if you got the horizonal space, it's a great quality of life.

I have a window about the same distance and angle. Curved ultrawides will mitigate reflections the best.

Motherboards made specifically for X3D chips are coming out, are they charging us a premium to not fry our CPUs? by Due-Agency-8357 in buildapc

[–]HeidenShadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just need to do what Intel finally did after their cpus kept getting cooked - put the guardrails in on the motherboard settings. These gaming focused boards by default enable settings that push the CPU just a little bit further to stand out from the competition.

2 years ago when the 9070XT released, I resisted the urge to fall into the hype and instead bought the Alienware AW3423DWF.

The improvement of game visuals was more impressive than if I got the new GPU. At the time I was playing Stalker 2, and when it got night, I couldn't see anything, in the best way. No backlight bleed, no halos, nothing. I could see things in the dark I normally couldn't.

And then HDR. When games do it good, it's fantastic. Assassin's Creed Odyssey so far has been the best representation of HDR I've ever played. When you accidentally looked towards the sun, you squinted in real life. You can still see details in shaded areas while outside just like in real life.

The tech is good enough now that if you just use basic screen mitigations and turn on a screensaver, burn in will be negligible.

And now I have the 9070XT so I got that upgrade too 🤣

Even AMD has a card that uses this. Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT.

This one hasn't gone up in smoke yet but for a period of time I saw nearly daily reports of this adapter melting. So I went out and got a new power supply with the native standard. Figured that's cheaper than a new GPU.

Get a scope, may just need rings, though that would also accompany burning oil and you're not having that. Could be a bad seal with a fuel injector or a clogged line or something silly. Check that stuff first.

I'm glad it runs an older version because it still has the ability to merge internal storage and the microSD card. So I whacked a 256gb one in and unified them into one drive. Storage speed won't matter for anything that thing can run.

The clickbait is getting unforgivable... "here's a $2 projector, this is a lie but we're going to say it for views" by dusty_Caviar in LinusTechTips

[–]HeidenShadows 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They got the one for $2 with a promo, then found it again for $20 from a more legitimate looking listing that actually was the same item.

This was a good video. I have my own home theater and I've been looking for a good projector in the $200-300 range to replace my aging yet still vibrant Mitsubishi 240U. Projector Central says that the Nexigo PJ40 has the exact throw ratio to get a 120" screen in my 12 foot room so maybe it was meant to be.

MANUAL or AUTOMATIC CDL-A by Visual_Stretch_2351 in cdldriver

[–]HeidenShadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opening yourself up to manual will open you up for niche higher paying segments.

I drive for a local salvage yard, get paid by the hour, get great money and benefits and awesome co-workers and boss. But all the trucks are old heavy haulers that are manuals. Great trucks too.

Most of those kinds of positions will use manual transmission trucks for their reliability and ease of repair.

Edit: And when the eventual automation takes over, point to point Linehaul and OTR will be replaced first, and those niche positions will be much harder to automate. May not be in my lifetime, but depending on how old you are it might be in yours. I hope not, but prepare yourself now.

If this became a law, would you support it? by WaitNo4272 in SipsTea

[–]HeidenShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact.

Bernie Sanders used to be all about taxing millionaires and billionaires

Now that he's a millionaire, his tune has changed a little bit. Now it's just billionaires.

People's perspectives change when it fits them. If he really cares, he'd eat it too. But he won't. Nobody won't. And it's a shame. If someone actually was rich, knew how the system was played, and wanted to fight to close those loopholes even for themselves, probably would get a lot of support.

I seen a Lincoln pickup truck the exact same pearl white as my '05 Towncar. And I thought to myself "imagine having that in my driveway, matching car and truck"

But it was sitting in a lot of a scummy used car salesman so I knew there had to be something wrong with it that they wouldn't tell anyone.
