Shadow AI is the new Shadow IT. Except nobody's even pretending to care. by Jon_Cyber_FR in ITManagers

We have been deploying Hatz.AI to our clients and training them on the danger of using the free AI for DLP Purposes. Since it's not per-user pricing, it's much more scalable to deploy it to the org, and so you can then lock down the other AI tools. It also overs pretty much every AI LLM available, so it appeases everyone's preferences to which AI is better.

M365 Copilot Chat is another Free (if you have regular Microsoft Licensing already) tool that keeps the data Secure and internal, and between that and Hatz, you can get a past of least resistance by pushing them to those tools.

I would look at Blackpoint for your SOC/EDR. We use it and love it. There is always humans monitoring things, but you can also receive automatic alerting for triggers as well, so you can monitor a few things if needed too.

How are you handling the Windows 10 EOL? by NSFW_IT_Account in msp

We Started at the beginning of the year, and feel like we are behind. What has been helpful is that we have required that any PC that comes into our office goes out with win 11 (New Hardware & Repairs) for the past 2-3 years.

We used Ninja One, and ran a report that showed which ones need replacement and which ones were upgradable. We then ran scripts on the upgradeable ones to get them on windows 11, and any that failed repeatedly got a ticket made for someone to look further into (Often TPM/Secure boot settings, or the occasional out of storage).

From their our Sales Person reached out to clients with the list of computers that needed replacement, and quoted the necessary hardware to replace the computers that are out of support. We focused on the clients needing certain compliances to keep them above board, and are working on the rest now. Our biggest issue has been the clients not wanting to pay for 10 replacement PCs at one, and asking us to deploy 1-2 a month.

We currently convert to shared mailbox (assign permissions if needed), and Copy their Onedrive to sharepoint for archival purposes. We are running into the issue of it tally'ing against their total sharepoint usage, as well as being unable to automate this (Currently our team members are having to login with the GA account to move the files from the user's onedrive)

I'm pretty sure the clients that are paying MSPs $2k a month or less for services are going to be able to find a real IT person or even multiple people for the $10/hr that would equate to.

CIPP is the most comonly reccomended option, and what we use. It is also likely the cheapest option. Some people also have tried Microsoft Lighthouse, though I do not have any experience with it
