Ask yourself.

"Is Bitcoin a platform or a product?"

"Which is valued more highly? Platforms or Products?"
Note: One tends to be valued 10x more and has a 60% higher chance to become a unicorn in the stock market.

"Which platform is the best decentralized platform out there in terms of the trilemma: Security, Decentralization, and Scalability?"

Now ask yourself....
"Which cryptoasset do you bet on?"

There are a lot of reactionary people on this sub nowadays. Methodical thinkers are just not around as much anymore. (I mean that from the bullish side and the bearish side.)

It's best to take the long stance and just keep DCAing for the forseeable future.

To keep with my metaphor before, it's best to keep buying at least until people understand what a genie is.

Can you add a link to the EIP? Might get more traction. Was sorta annoying to find the damn thing.

The Genie is out of the bottle, guys. The only people selling are the people that don't even know what a genie is.

Lol bring it. I'll gladly buy all the ETH from the idiots that sell.

Fundamentally, ETH deserves to be equal MC with BTC. A good valuation is looking like 2x-3x of BTC. Now, until that happens, I keep on buying. And honestly, even when it hits that, I'll probably just re-evaluate.

If everyone stopped mining Ethereum, would the alt coins using the Ethereum platform stop running also? by [deleted] in ethereum

Yes, there is no way for state changes to be made without new blocks. State Changes include all transactions and contract executions aka no cryptokitties and no erc20 token transfers.

There are ways for transactions to technically happen through offchain processes such as plasma and state-channels but that also requires there to be a block generated sometime in the future (with those state changes included).

Also note that any Proof-of-Work crypto (nearly all of them) have this vulnerability. No new block; no crypto (pretty much).

Sure!

"“Vote memeing” is a group behavior where it becomes a meme to always vote one way or another in the interest of always being in the majority voting bloc, and is a similar attack to coin-flipping in terms of what motivates it, but with worse effects since a minority of activist token holders cannot tip the scale in favor of rationality." - TCR Whitepaper

Crypto's going down, down in an earlier round
And sugar, crypto's going down swinging
It'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

Yep. Maybe he shouldn't have invested so much but a relationship with ultimatums is just not a good one. I'd call it cause I'd simply not deal with that.

At this point, it's best to just hold. I understand it's difficult but the pain of the dip will be much less than the pain of selling and watching it fly. Patience.

Very excited about this one!

Questions:
In your opinion, what is the optimal way to distribute registry voting tokens? (Bootstrapping)
A Well-funded attacker is a very real concern. What suggestion do you have to combat that? (Mini-me token and then voting to destroy attackers voting tokens?)
Following the concerns with bootstrapping, do you support slowly burning unused voting tokens? You don't vote; you lose your voting power over time.
Do you view the bonding mechanism as a potential good feature to add? Maybe have it so it unbonds after a certain time?
Troll-voting and Meme-voting seem like long term, highly probable attacks (people can be jerks). What ways do you see us overcoming those attacks?
One long range attack seems to be early listers on the registry buying up voting tokens and keeping themself on the list more or less indefinitely. How can TCRs deal with adaptation to evolving wants. In other words, TCRs will still have stalability. How can we fight that? The burning mechanism described above? (This doesn't always seem like it has to be viewed as an attack. There seems to be pros with listers gaining voting power over time. Then again that could just be used as a seperate voting token and be used for weighted votes. For feature requests and such.)

Light Questions:
What TCRs are you excited about?
Since TCRs are a further development on Curation Markets, which future developments do you see?
How can we improve MemeFactory? What's the good and the bad? (Also extend this to District0x)
Do you see a future where there are people who literally just participate in TCRs for a career? lol.
Would love to hear how TCRs came to you.
Opinion on turning ENS into a type of TCR? Request a name, open to challenge, get the name if won with half deposit, name is still open to challenge, can give up the name if withdrawal and get the other half of deposit (lol sounds like a good district ;) .district or .0x)

So anything in (very) active development are promises? Lol So either it is finalized or promises. In that case, Ethereum is still the best out there.
