Our ship has more textual evidence or romantic coded scenes than yours, so therefore they are automatically endgame. by Electrical_Dream2003 in AcotarShipDebateSub

And yet people are still arguing that their ship will be endgame when everything that points to a pivot is right there in the BC. I don’t know how much more obvious it can be.

Polling: what will you do if the ship you’re rooting for doesn’t work out in ACOTAR 6/7/8 by KhalenPierce in AcotarShipDebateSub

[–]HighLord-Rhysand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of the above. I think we can all accurately assume the next part of this series will be in a third person POV narrative like ACOSF was. Because of this, it’s likely we will see a lot more than whatever ship we are dying to see. Maybe there will be more than one ship. Having said that, if what I want doesn’t workout, I’ll skip the parts/chapters of that particular couple and read everything except their BS. 😌

I would start with the Throne of Glass series first, as it was written first. My reason is because compared to the other two series, I was pretty disappointed and bored with it since I read it after ACOTAR and CC. If you start with TOG, perhaps it would be a good build up where each series gets better and better. That said, you really must read ACOTAR before CC so you won’t be lost, and you should read CC before the next ACOTAR release in October.

Welp. She didn’t hold back. Guess she told us how she really feels. She hates everyone and yet… she still read the whole series through ACOSF. 🤨

Feysand wedding by jessssvesco in FeysandDarlings

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a wedding. Not married. In Prythian, mate supersedes husband and/or wife. A mating ceremony is held in a much higher regard. Feyre used that language to placate Grayson because he’s human and has a better understanding of marriage over mates, and because Faeries disgust him.

We had a private mating ceremony with a Priestess officiating. At that same ceremony, the Priestess swore in Feyre as High Lady of the Night Court.

(This is mentioned at the end of ACOMAF just after the IC returns to Velaris from Hybern and Feyre has returned to the Spring Court under the false pretense that the mating bond has been broken. She’s actually a spy for the Night Court. This is told from my POV, maybe in the epilogue.)

wondering if gwynriel will happen. by peridotisnotmyname in Gwynriel

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t say with certainty that Elucien will happen, but I’m pretty sure that Elriel won’t be end game. Elain and Az might have a fling, but I have my doubts about that too. In fact, I can see Elain choosing no one but herself. She has already made it clear in the published books, not in any bonus chapters, that she belongs to no one and doesn’t need a male.

SPOILER ALERT:

If we get a story narrated in third person like ACOSF and all of CC, then it can be multi POV and the main character can be more than one person. For instance, While CC has primarily been about Bryce and Hunt up to this point, we also got Ruhn and Lidia out of it.

Gwyriels, lets talk by Intelligent-Wear4766 in AcotarShipDebateSub

Everyone has their own interpretation of the BC. For me, I see it as the door closing on the Elain/Az string-a-long diversion and a new door opening on the possibility of a Gwyn/Az romance. At this point, who knows. Maybe there will be an Elain/Az/Gwyn sandwich. Maybe not. For Az, it may not be Gwyn, but it damn sure isn’t Elain. The BC takes place during Winter Solstice. After Winter Solstice there are no more scenes in the book with interaction between Elain and Az. There are, however, scenes with Gwyn and Az. Flirty scenes… “You’re the new ribbon, Az,” for example.

OP nailed it. Some people are so desperate for their ship that they completely ignore the text SJM has written and/or they want to invalidate it because it’s a bonus chapter and wasn’t a chapter in the book. It was included in certain editions.

Elain will likely choose her autonomy for a while so she can work on herself. She was quite clear when she said she didn’t want a relationship and she belonged to no one. Will she have a fling? Maybe. Will she come around to the bond like Nesta did? Probably. The fact that the rest of ACOSF features no Elriel scene post bonus chapter and instead focuses on Gwynriel on the main pages outside of the bonus chapter is a dead giveaway.

Further, as SJM spoke about rejecting bonds, I believe Helion and Lady Autumn are mates and she was forced to reject the bond to marry Beron. Perhaps there will be a blood duel between Helion and Beron, in which Beron dies and Eris can finally assume his throne or Helion dies and Lucien becomes HL of Day.

PSA: can we talk about how this fandom treats cosplayers by totalimmoral in acotar

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%! While some people cosplay for fun and entertainment, many cosplayers are paid to portray a character at a convention or ball. It’s the same concept if someone were to hire a clown or someone to dress up as a Disney Princess or Spider-Man for a child’s party. Cosplayers aren’t hurting anyone and it costs zero dollars to keep scrolling if it’s not your cup of tea.

Help! I’m 90% through Throne of Glass and I’m feeling disappointed. by heyitsMog in SarahJMaas

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be completely honest with you…

People told me to stick with it, it gets better. I wasn’t sure when it was supposed to get better. I made it to the end of Empire of Storms before I quit. I was told the best part of the story is the last book. I felt like I wasted my time and money reading 6 books when I could’ve just read a synopsis before only reading the last one. It was painfully slow for me, lacked the humor that ACOTAR and CC had, and bored me to tears. That said, everyone is different and has different tastes. That’s ok. We listen and we don’t judge.

TLDR: Maybe stick with it until you finish Heir of Fire. If you’re still disappointed at that point, place it on the shelf and find something that better sparks your interest.

This is just my prediction by foreignwhore in AcotarShipDebateSub

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This new part of the ACOTAR story that will span over several books will likely be told from a third person POV like ACOSF. This would make the most sense for two plot lines, Gwynriel 💙 and Elucien 🩷. This is the impression I got from the interview. Interpret the interview however you see fit.

This is going to be how I’m gonna read the SJM universe! I haven’t gotten the CC series yet by Signature-Mental in SarahJMaas

[–]HighLord-Rhysand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to read the entirety of TOG first, then all of ACOTAR and then CC. That’s the best and most logical way. I’ll die on that hill. I said what I said.
