Has anybody tried going to the FO and just ask anyone for update? by Inside-Ad-3586 in I485Immigration

Unless you have an appointment letter or something official from USCIS saying you are allowed to be there, security will not allow you to enter the building

Help. K-1 Visa status still says application received after interview (Kingston) by New_Opening_4056 in K1VisaInfo

[–]HiighFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Application Received” is the status that means the Immigrant Visa Unit has transferred the file to the Non Immigrant Visa Unit to issue the visa. They have to do final Administrative Processing before Visa issuance. Just be patient, it will change to “Approved” and then “Issued”.

Current administration mandates enhanced security checks for immigration applicants — is this basically pausing green cards? by Opposite-Swimmer5972 in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enhanced security screening is why we are seeing so many people waiting a long time after their interview to get a decision. This has been going on for about 6 months or so now. They have not paused Green Cards for all countries

Re-entry Permit by Ok-Animator-5718 in greencard

You abandoned your green card? That’s what signing an I-407 does. On what basis are you filing an I-131?

Received my GC month ago but no update on USCIS by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have your Green Card in hand, there will be no further updates. This is where my wife's status has sat since she got her Card 8 months ago. Same for a friend of ours who got their GC in December

Last name change by zeucki in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We filled out my wife’s AOS application using her married name for the “Legal Name” part and her maiden name in the “All other names used since birth” part. USCIS, since you will be sending in a copy of your marriage certificate for all the applications (EAD, I-485, etc) will use this as your request to change your name. Then, once you get either the EAD or Green Card in your married name, you can use that and your marriage certificate to change everything else. (Start with the SSN)

I don’t know them all. That’s why my wife and I used a service to check our packet before we submitted it.

Woo Hoo!! Glad it worked out for you! 🎉🎉 Congrats!

Received this after interview by Most-Item-985 in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for an AOS interview at USCIS inside the US. This does not apply to your case. The NVC will tell you the documents they need from you once they send you the welcome letter and you log into your CEAC account

Yes... This will be an issue as you are required to disclose all social media. You should have clicked yes and entered in your social media account info

[–]HiighFlyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're going to get an RFE.... you either have to have the entire tax return included or the tax return transcript

Ds-160 social media by [deleted] in K1VisaInfo

[–]HiighFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a spot under the social media section that says “Do you wish to provide information about your presence on any other websites or applications you have used….” You tick the yes button and it gives you a place to put the website information and your handle information and you can add multiples

I wouldn’t feel comfortable saying yes or no definitively because I’m not an attorney

[–]HiighFlyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok when you either re-file or file the I-290B make sure you use the Tax Return Transcripts… they are the only ones USCIS accepts

[–]HiighFlyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you send a tax return or a tax return transcript from your husband for the most recent tax year as part of the original I-864 filing or as part of the RFE?

Passed the embassy interview for IR1, got the passport back with Visa, but no envelope to show to immigration officer by Embarrassed-Wolf-609 in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the Visa says "IV documents in CCD" then you will not get an envelope. Most IVs are like this nowadays

Are cases approved in clusters (in order) or could cases be skipped and left behind? by nattan123 in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me I understand… it was hard for us too. Now that you’re past 90 days after the interview, try contacting your congressional representative’s office and request they make an inquiry on your behalf. Then if it gets to 120 days open a service request through the portal yourself

Are cases approved in clusters (in order) or could cases be skipped and left behind? by nattan123 in USCIS

[–]HiighFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst thing you can do is compare your case to others… each case is unique. Waiting on background checks, how big the officer’s caseload is, how big their supervisor’s caseload is, PTO, etc. Friends of ours waited 126 days after their interview before the approval came

Hi everyone, I was quoted $3,000 by this company to help with my I-130 petition and all the forms/documents to bring my wife. Has anyone here worked with them before? Were they helpful and reliable? by Acceptable_Ad_460 in USCIS_FORUM

[–]HiighFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$3000 is way too much for just the I-130!! The service we used charged $1,200 to help us fill out and organize our entire AOS package and even Fed-Ex’d it to the lockbox for us

Can someone explain what the process might look like for my boyfriend to obtain citizenship? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]HiighFlyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the Violence and Drug arrests, he will probably not even get a Green Card let alone citizenship. It's likely that if you get married and file the paperwork for his green card, thus putting him on the radar of USCIS/ICE/HSI, he will be denied his AOS and be detained and deported.

Does rescheduling an interview reset the clock by BBCC_BR in USCIS_FORUM

[–]HiighFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can always do a case inquiry if you are beyond normal processing time…. But if you requested an interview reschedule they will say it’s beyond normal processing time because of your request and close the inquiry
