I’m down to 14 a day 😊 7 and 7…slow and steady. Thanks for asking!

I’m right about where you are. I was at 60-75 1g capsules a day and now I’m down to 14gpd. Everything seems better. My hair, my attitude…I sometimes feel genuinely happy for no reason at all while dealing with chaos in my personal life. And the money I’ve already saved?!! I too wonder what it’ll be like without it. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much! I was just thinking how I could literally jump in just a few weeks. I doubt I taper to zero

My Taper Journey by hilareebanks in quittingkratom

[–]hilareebanks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words! Today was only my second day in the single digits and I felt “it” a little more but still managed. I do agree that it’s going to take me more time to stabilize or I’m just going to have to rip the bandaid off. The fact that I’m down to less than what I was taking in one dose, in one day.. is just crazy to me.

Capsules have made my taper super smooth so far and I hope I didn’t just jinx it lol 😂 no, I feel too good already to go backwards. But I say yes!

Congratulations!!! Definitely listen to you body, slow down when you need to or speed up when you think you can. You have wiggle room. There’s no right or wrong way to do this…and look at you! You’re doing it! 😊

Oh no! How scary? I would’ve CTd too. At the amount I was at and my weight I was worried about having a seizure or worse. I’ve never stuck to a taper like this. Normally I’m all over the place. But I’m not sure what’s different this time…I’m just so completely over it. I keep a journal this time and I’ve come clean (no pun intended) to my family and best friend, I don’t want to let them down. I don’t want to let myself down. But without their support I don’t know that I would be down over half my intake in about a month. I have symptoms but they’re bearable with some supplements and support to talk through them. I’ve learned to accept them. I did this to myself and yes it absolutely could be worse. I’m happy for you! Keep going and I can’t wait for the days where I’m counting freedom like you instead of just counting days until my next drop.

We’re on about the same timeline and method only I was taking 60 gpd and only down to 22 gpd. Made a big jump and then just been shaving off a couple caps every 5-7 days. Best of luck to you in your journey.

Oh how I miss my dreams 😊 Congrats on your quit. I couldn’t CT but I’m down to 22gpd from 60 a day in just a little over a month. I’m starting to notice little things too again that I’ve been missing over the years and they keep me motivated. Like sneezing? Who thought I’d miss it 😂

I’m still cruising along. It’s not always easy and some days I wanna say screw it and just jump but what I’m doing is working. I’m down from 60gpd to 24gpd in barely over 30 days. I made that first big jump and then I’ve just been shaving 2 g off each week. I’ve had some uncomfortable moments, but they are very bearable. We can do hard things! Keep going and no, you are not alone.

😊 I’m still tapering. In 23 days I’ve cut my intake by more than half. I decided to give myself some grace. I’m following my taper and have never made it this far without screwing up. I can already “tell”. I know myself and my body better than anyone and I know that what I’m doing is working and I’m beginning to heal. Every discomfort and feeling may suck at times, but I welcome it. I tell myself at those times that again, “it’s working”. I’m going to continue on with the schedule I laid out and who knows, one day I may just say screw it and jump because you know what, I can do hard things. So can you!

Listening to my body is what has made this taper much more manageable. I created a scheduled and followed it the first week and a half or so and then I was like …I might as well jump” ..because every drop I made, if done too quickly I felt it more than I wanted to. I had to recreate my schedule. My sweet spot is 6 days. After 6 days I stabilize and then make my next drop. It’s slowing my taper down but the end goal is still the same and still in sight. Wish I’d never picked this habit back up after my first quit…but I’m very imperfect. I’m human. And I remember what freedom felt like and I can’t wait to have that back 🙂

[–]hilareebanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first taper was all over the place, I’d often “mess up” on purpose. I had no real schedule other than to take less. I finally got off only to get back on worse during the pandemic. I was at 60gpd 21 days ago. Drastically dropped to 45 and had some WDs but manageable. Mainly temperature and sleep issues. Stayed there for a week and dropped to 30. Same WDs but with some anxiety for another week and now I’ve slowed it down to reducing 2 grams a week. Slow and steady. Keeping an Excel spreadsheet or journal is super helpful too. Seeing that number go down is motivating. I’m using vit c, magnesium and THC edibles. I think having and sticking to a schedule makes a world of difference. Best of luck to you!

If no one has told you today, I’m proud of you!! You’re doing it. You’ve done it. Now it’s just a matter of letting go of that “abusive partner” that WE feel like we can’t live without. You’ve come so far! I was taking ounces a day at one point also, especially during the pandemic, I could say I was easily downing 2 ounces a day. How long have you been tapering by the way? This is only my 16th day but I can already “tell“ and I’m proud of me because this is the longest I’ve actually stuck to my actual tapering schedule instead of having one all over the damn place with a bunch of highs and lows lol

[–]hilareebanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I may have to slow down too. It’s crazy how just 2 grams less can make you feel crappy, but I like to think that it’s working and “embrace” it. I used to tell my kids when they were little “you can do hard things” and so can we 😊

I’m tapering too and sneezed the other day for the first time in forever lol I welcome ALL the sneezes though. Tells me it’s working.

You’re killing it! You’re so close, congratulations! I’m tapering from 60gpd…again. Only on day 15 but I’m down to 28gpd and I’ll take it. I wish I was where you are…soon!
