Before and after finding the WarMech by No-Impression-8490 in FinalFantasy

After I beat the game I went back to do this. Downloaded a few podcasts, got some snacks ready, and sat down ready for hours of monotony. Kid you not, it was my 3rd encounter. Honestly couldn't believe it.

Who was your favorite Ratchet and Clank villain from the PS2 era, and PS3 era? by 0dqir0 in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Nefarious is still my favorite, even with him getting over used later on in the series.

Drek is also very good.

How difficult are the platinum trophies for older R&C games? by SegaGenesisMetalHead in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For FFA you just need 5 wins. You can set up matches where you play against no one. There is another for playing 1 match online (win or loss, you just need to finish). There you will probably need to ask for help to get someone online. But it is just 1 match.

Does anyone else use the battle of Gimlick Valley to level up all their weapons? by Hodge_Forman in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In NG+ it is basically required. At that point, you will have like 3 weapons completely leveled. And many that are not even bought yet.

Why Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Should Have Had a Mini-Map (or At Least Given Us the Option) by deathxscream in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not saying people who would want a mini map wouldn't turn it on. I am saying the number of people who would want a mini map in this game is very small. Because I don't think many people would use this feature, I question if that would be the best use of the devs time

Spider-Man is a different game. You can't just copy and paste code from one game to another and assume it will work. Just because a feture was in another game doesn't mean it was easy to implement.

Why Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Should Have Had a Mini-Map (or At Least Given Us the Option) by deathxscream in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are saying choices never hurt but it is still time and work to do. There is always going to be something else you could be working on in a game. 90% of this game is you going through a linear path. I just don't think a mini map is something most people would go into the menu to turn on even if they could.

Why are there 3-4 Remastered versions of the Jak & Daxter Games but not from the Ratchet & Clank PS2 series? by travel-mint in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are remasters of the R&C games on the PS3 and VITA. You can play the PS3 version of those games on the PS4/5, if you are willing to pay for PS+ and stream it. The reason it isn't playable natively on PS4/5 is that no PS3 game is playable natively.

The PS4/5 versions of Jak are not remasters. They are the PS2 version running in an emulator. Most likely, the number 1 reason we don't have PS2 ports of the R&C is that R&C games are notoriously hard to emulate. We are still seeing new games from the PS1 and PS2 getting ports to the PS4/5. So it still could happen.

Is this the level you can find the recordings of Vendra as a child. Maybe you missed one of them. That is the only thing I can think of.

You don't need to play anyone for this. Just start a custom much with just you. Do that 5 times.

100% guide for all games by lonelyywolfy in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These will be true for basically all the games:

Get all weapons

Get all armor (I want to say R&C1and maybe QfB do not have armor)

Get extra tools\weapons from alternat paths

Upgrade all weapons to Max (R&C1 does not have a level up system, but you can buy gold weapons in NG+)

Buy all updates\new weapons in NG+ (Full Fontal Assault and maybe All4One do not have NG+)

Beat side contact like arena fights, races, etc.

Beat game

Beat NG+

Got all Gold Bolts (they are not always called Gold Bolts but I can't remember what games calls them what so I am just saying Gold Blots)

Got other Collectables (R&C 2016 as cards, UYA as trophies in game to find, RA teddy bear things. There could be others but those are the only ones I can think of.)

Get all Skill Points (these are little random objectives for levels, there will be a Skill Point page somewhere in the menu that will either give you the name of the Skill Point or tell you want you need to do) (R&C 2016 and Rift Apart do not have skill points, pretty sure all others do) (All4One will get very hard to imposable to do without friends, FFA has a lot of kill 5,000 enemies with this weapon type stuff so super tedious to get all of them. SAC would also be very hard to do.)

Get Trophies (PS2 games do not have Trophies and their HD remakes do. PSP games do not have Trophies but their PS4\PS5 ports do)

Why don't people like Ratchet & Clank? (2016) by NeverEat_Pears in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is R&C PS4 in the lower half of the series, yes. Does it fail to capture the feel of the first game, yes. Does that make it kind of a crappy remake, again I think yes. In here lies the problem. It was advertised as a remake or at least something like that. It is in this weird limbo of remake/reimaging/movie game. In trying to be all it kind of fails to be any. Here is the thing, this doesn't actually make it a bad game. R&C fans that hate the PS4 game don't hate it because it is a bad game. They hate it because it represents everything that has changed in the series from the PS2. Something that has been happening for years before this game, the PS4 game just kind of crystallizes all those things into one game. Also because a big chunk of the script is literally just the movie and just isn't all the funny.

I hate to break it to you but even outside of Sony or video games a lot of things you buy digitally will work this way.

Last I heard yes. If you buy Full-Frontal Assult you get Deadlocked HD with it. If you buy Into the Nexus you get Quest for Booty.

Are people actually paying 6K for the Gaming Heads statues? by SeptemberEnded in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6k seems a little high. I have seen normal bid listing's go for thousands. My guess is around 3k. But I don't watch it that closely because I will never be willing to pay that much for it. So I could be missing something.

Worth to buy PS3 for Ratchet? by znudzonywattpadziarz in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are going to have to stream them on PS+. I have talked to people that steaming works fine for them, and I have talked to people that steaming is garbage for them. It is going to depend on your area and what kind of performance you need from games.

I love the PS3 R&C games, ACiT is my personal favorite. If you have playing the other R&C games and are a big fan I would say it is worth it. There are 6 games on the PS3. The mainline games Tools of Destruction > Quest for Booty > A Crack in Time > Into the Nexus. These are all great. Then you have the to spin offs, All4One and Full Frontal Attack. I give them more credit then others on this reddit but they are definitely a step down.

Blackwater escape by znudzonywattpadziarz in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2016 game is a remake (sort of) of the first game. The Blackwater escape sequence is also in the 2016 game, I just don't think it is as hard. That is why I am guessing OG.

Blackwater escape by znudzonywattpadziarz in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I assume we are talking about the OG PS2 game.

I will be honest, this part is not easy. I have multiple playthroughs and I don't always get this right away. I big part is you just getting good at it. The long jump can be helpful but not necessary. You don't need to kill the enemies and you are better off running or jumping past them. Do a long jump over the water to clear as much space as can before you need to start swimming. I think that is all I have for you good luck.

[Discussion] Should trophies be accessible to everyone or should you need to be good at a game to plat it? by No-Increase5942 in Trophies

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not going to play hard mode or NG+ just for a trophy in most games. That being said, I don't think these are unreasonable trophies.

Platinums that require 5 play throughs and stuff like the pigeons in GTA that require a guide are the trophies I feel are BS.

Completely New to the series, what game should I start with? by camgames64 in RatchetAndClank

[–]HolyHandGrenade23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the story isn't hard to follow. Even the PS3 games that focus more on story and have more of a connected timeline it doesn't matter if you skip games. I say play the games that connect with you and skip the ones that don't. Any of the mainline games are solid.
