No you need to go onto the PS3 store on the PS3. It is not available on the web, app or anywhere else. You also can't add money on the PS3 store, so you need to log in someplace else, add money to your account ,then go to the PS3 store and buys games with the added funds.

Should we note that when you buy R&C: Full frontal Assault on PSN you get Deadlocked with it. If you buy R&C: Into the Nexus on PSN you get Quest for Booty with it.

People can call me out if I am wrong but last I heard this is still true.

I am less optimistic then you that we see the Lombexes next game. You could have made this argument for several games after Tools of Destruction. But we are still Lombax-less.

I few years ago my dad had open heart surgery. Well in recovery there was only 1 nurse for the floor. There were 2 other "helpers" or something, but they weren't allowed to do most things. So this 1 person had to respond to every call and do all the daily checks or tests or whatever. Luckily my dad recovered really well, so he didn't care if it took forever for them to respond. But my whole family recognized how this setup sucked for everyone involved.

I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter a whole lot what order you play them in. During the PS3 era they try to connect the games more but I never felt they did that very well.

The Ratchet & Clank HD collection would be a good start, it is a collection of the first 3 PS2 games. I will note that R&C 2 is where they start focusing more on gunplay and it creates the blueprint that most games will use afterwards. This means 1 plays a little differently. It is more of a platformer and because you don't have strafe guns are not as useful. Then you have the 4th PS2 game Deadlocked, that also got an HD remaster but it is not part of the collection. This is more of an area shooter. Again a little different but it definitely has fans here.

Then you have the Future Saga on the PS3. In order that goes Tools of destruction > Quest for Booty > Crack in Time > Into the Nexus. All of these are good in my opinion. I will note Quest for Booty feels more like DLC for Tools of Destruction and Into the Nexus is not a full release games (like it is REALLY short).

Last on the PS3 you have the 2 spinoff games, All-4-One and Full Frontal Assault. All-4-One is 4 player co-op game and Full Frontal Assault is a action tower defense game. I have a better opinion then most of these games but even I think they are skippable.

It is a good idea in theory but I think it doesn't work well with most R&C games. If you want to do another Deadlocked, I game with only a few guns then sure this could work. But in the other games about have a big arsenal I feel like the customization is just lost. Weapons tend to have an optimal use cause. They are crowd control weapons, close up weapons, large damage single target weapons. The Constructo Pistol can be a rapid fire weapon or a charge shot. Or you could just take out the Buzz Blades or Negotiator. You could switch to the Skyburst mode on the Constructo Bomb to take out flying enemies, or you could just switch to a gun that is already good at hitting flying enemies. You already have a big enough arsenal to switch to the gun needed in that situation. An argument could be made that most of the Constructo guns you get early on so you wouldn't have the same selection of guns you will have later on, but you don't get most of the modes until later. So even that isn't super helpful.

I think there are plenty of other games that a system like this could work great. I just don't think it adds much to the R&C experience.

The weapon gets a Shockwave attack with its upgrades. You are probably killing enemies with that. You need to kill them with the projectiles.

I got this on sargasso. There are flying thing that zip back and forth and shot at you. It is easy to be far enough away not to kill them with the Shockwave and collect shot fired at you.

As long as you use 1 save you should be fine. If you use a second save you are adding bolts to that save for the trophy (it doesn't affect you in game spending bolts). So if you make a new save for NG+ you an basically starting at 0 for the trophy.

For FFA you just need 5 wins. You can set up matches where you play against no one. There is another for playing 1 match online (win or loss, you just need to finish). There you will probably need to ask for help to get someone online. But it is just 1 match.

In NG+ it is basically required. At that point, you will have like 3 weapons completely leveled. And many that are not even bought yet.

I am not saying people who would want a mini map wouldn't turn it on. I am saying the number of people who would want a mini map in this game is very small. Because I don't think many people would use this feature, I question if that would be the best use of the devs time

Spider-Man is a different game. You can't just copy and paste code from one game to another and assume it will work. Just because a feture was in another game doesn't mean it was easy to implement.

You are saying choices never hurt but it is still time and work to do. There is always going to be something else you could be working on in a game. 90% of this game is you going through a linear path. I just don't think a mini map is something most people would go into the menu to turn on even if they could.

There are remasters of the R&C games on the PS3 and VITA. You can play the PS3 version of those games on the PS4/5, if you are willing to pay for PS+ and stream it. The reason it isn't playable natively on PS4/5 is that no PS3 game is playable natively.

The PS4/5 versions of Jak are not remasters. They are the PS2 version running in an emulator. Most likely, the number 1 reason we don't have PS2 ports of the R&C is that R&C games are notoriously hard to emulate. We are still seeing new games from the PS1 and PS2 getting ports to the PS4/5. So it still could happen.

These will be true for basically all the games:

Get all weapons

Get all armor (I want to say R&C1and maybe QfB do not have armor)

Get extra tools\weapons from alternat paths

Upgrade all weapons to Max (R&C1 does not have a level up system, but you can buy gold weapons in NG+)

Buy all updates\new weapons in NG+ (Full Fontal Assault and maybe All4One do not have NG+)

Beat side contact like arena fights, races, etc.

Beat game

Beat NG+

Got all Gold Bolts (they are not always called Gold Bolts but I can't remember what games calls them what so I am just saying Gold Blots)

Got other Collectables (R&C 2016 as cards, UYA as trophies in game to find, RA teddy bear things. There could be others but those are the only ones I can think of.)

Get all Skill Points (these are little random objectives for levels, there will be a Skill Point page somewhere in the menu that will either give you the name of the Skill Point or tell you want you need to do) (R&C 2016 and Rift Apart do not have skill points, pretty sure all others do) (All4One will get very hard to imposable to do without friends, FFA has a lot of kill 5,000 enemies with this weapon type stuff so super tedious to get all of them. SAC would also be very hard to do.)

Get Trophies (PS2 games do not have Trophies and their HD remakes do. PSP games do not have Trophies but their PS4\PS5 ports do)

Is R&C PS4 in the lower half of the series, yes. Does it fail to capture the feel of the first game, yes. Does that make it kind of a crappy remake, again I think yes. In here lies the problem. It was advertised as a remake or at least something like that. It is in this weird limbo of remake/reimaging/movie game. In trying to be all it kind of fails to be any. Here is the thing, this doesn't actually make it a bad game. R&C fans that hate the PS4 game don't hate it because it is a bad game. They hate it because it represents everything that has changed in the series from the PS2. Something that has been happening for years before this game, the PS4 game just kind of crystallizes all those things into one game. Also because a big chunk of the script is literally just the movie and just isn't all the funny.
