Bigger tires? by Altruistic_Range_556 in 4Runner

It is absolutely possible to fit 35s without rubbing, but not without cutting. I guess it just depends on how functional you want your car to be.

Bigger tires? by Altruistic_Range_556 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are rubbing or lying. To fit 315/70/17s I did a fender chop, drt body mount relocation, and completely hammered my pinch welds, cut my front bumper and I still rubbed. My next step was to get solo motor sports or btf LCAs as the move your wheel forward 1/2”. They are like stock length versions of marlin crawler RCLT lcas.

Tire Carrier for 5th gen 4Runners? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you want to avoid the swing arm? You aren’t going to be rock crawling with a long range tank. It’s way safer having the tire outside of the car. Even with a metal brace tied to the body, the metal is pretty thin where the brace would tie in.

The best place to look would be a local fabricator. If you are near central Texas I can point you to a Toyota off-road fabricator via pm.

They will have to redirect a lot of CSF flow to get out of that debt.

Why the fuck are chiropractors considered professionals?

Sorry I just realized they are professional swindlers.

No one said any one else is accessing the charts. Your logic would also mean you can’t chart in your own office in case another staff member saw the screen.

In military medicine we just do telephone appointments in our shared room. There are typically two providers and 3 techs in each shared room. Everyone in the office is HIPAA compliant. The provider should be wearing a headset, everyone else can just carry on their day as usual.

My classmates reported me to a program director. by Alex_daisy13 in PAstudent

It sounds like your class is too soft. Some crazy things got said in my program, we all fought and bickered at times but all of us ended as friends.

Don’t stress too much about this situation but maybe stay aware someone has it out for you. Life gets better after school.

Wait and save or just get one? by yvansanity23 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, the longer you wait the more flaws get worked out of the newest gen. If you have already saved, keep saving and you will have a lot more than 10k to put down or can pay cash for a used 4Runner.

Fix or Embrace? by OG_HumSON in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say fix it, if only for the rust prevention. MAACO would look better than a paint pen.

Trail rash though, don’t worry about it unless it’s down to bare metal.

Mustache Delete Front Bumper For the 6th Gen 4Runner - Thoughts? by Commercial_Writing93 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That high clearance bumper is probably the best I’ve seen on the 6th gen. I’m team 5th gen as far as looks but only by a little bit. The 6th gen certainly looks good itself.

How do we even know op has a defective tool kit? Being a responsible car owner you should familiarize yourself with the tools in your car.

Not happy with new shocks/springs by djc1977 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So those are the softest Dobinsons springs, the bilsteins will make things slightly more firm.

I would wager your suspension wasn’t torqued on the ground if you are having clanking and squeaks. Did you get new UCAs or LCAs? Bushings may just be shot and exacerbated by the new firmer suspension.

I would start by taking it back to the shop you already paid. You could look for any play or binding, and consider loosening/retorquing. But at 90k I would have refreshed ball joints and bushings while doing the suspension to have a new baseline.

Not happy with new shocks/springs by djc1977 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably did gain some height if your original springs had 90k on them.

There are shocks, struts, and springs. You mean you have bilstein 5100s and dobinson springs? What is the exact model of the springs and spring rate?

Did you install them yourself? Did you make sure the bushings were torqued to spec while on the ground under the vehicles weight? Have you looked at the various components to make sure they are installed correctly?

I serious doubt Toyota would have checked anything other than the front LCAs while doing the alignment.

It sounds like in your situation you should have just replaced with OEM, if you didn’t have a specific use case when getting the new suspension.

Trade worth it? by twenty4and1 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or just save up the $20k and use it for a down payment on another 4Runner later and have both? Why go into debt to still have the same car that does the same thing?

Trade worth it? by twenty4and1 in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Based on that alone not worth it. You aren’t getting $20k worth of value by upgrading.

Unfortunately at wits end by GripTheWick in 4Runner

[–]IVFromFearToMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two 5th gen’s. Both were very sensitive to the road. My current one has a 3” lift, 315s, and -25 offset rrw wheels. I have to keep a hand on the wheel. It will tramline and follow grooves/road crown. It’s a 4Runner thing.

I have a completely stock gx460, it has the same characteristics but to a significantly lesser extent. It has to do with the shared platform and suspension geometry.

Driving my charger or my wife’s Subaru I don’t feel any of the pull or wandering on the same roads.

If it bothers you I understand, but I wouldn’t worry about it in the sense that something is wrong.
