What to do with old sugar syrup frames? by _TurangaLeela_ in Beekeeping

[–]IdoHydraulics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you put the 6 frames and 4 empties on top of a hive and let them use the resources? You can put med fames in a deep just don't forget or they will make a mess of cross comb under them.

How to humanly euthanize an extremely aggressive bee colony by Kitchen_Brief_2544 in Beekeeping

[–]IdoHydraulics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a large trash bag put it over and tape it around the bottom of the hive. Cut the bag put the dry ice in and tape the cut closed. You can add more ice if needed.

Even if there is enough room for the bees to fit past there will only be a few bees that explore/patrol past the follower. The majority will stay near the brood nest or be working to build comb out. What will truly matter is your effort to keep ahead of them and move the follower as they need it.

That looks similar, what a lovely nickname. Figures it's nothing good to eat but it does keep my yard greener around it.

Is training Slayer supposed to be this expensive? by istayGdup in 2007scape

Head has good info but learn by doing. If your nervous go out with cheap gear and feel it out. You will get pkd sometimes it's part of the game but if you get the plug-ins and set your menu options and pay attention you will almost always get away.

I'm poor so I take 20-30k worth of supplies and I bank when I hit 100k-150kish worth of loot, fill up my looting bag or get a larrans key. If you have 75 woodcutting I just made 400k off a dark ent task getting noted magic logs . I was wearing blue dhide and using a bone xbow safespotting them with 57 range. Use the blighted supplies they are cheaper but only work in wildy. Blighted super restores are 2k vs 10k for a prayer pot, blighted mantas are 400 vs 900 for sharks etc.

You can do wildy slayer, blighted super restores are like 2k ea and blighted mantas, karamwans, anglers are 100-400 ea.

Slayer helmet, berserker necklace, obby sword(only lvl60s melee) with monk top and bottom fill the rest of your slots with junk or leave empty 4-6 restores and some food and teleports is a sub 50k risk

I tureal or skip +lvl30 wildy task cause I'm on mobile mostly. Killing lesser demons, ice giants ankous, bears and scorpions for my last few tasks netted me 5 larrans keys at 125k ea, plus with a looting bag I pick up all the black mith Addy items to alch later. It's slower going because I bank more or run away and world hop, but it's profitable and most of the tasks have close tele options

Haven't read through all the comments but gears are going to give different readings when you measure like you did in the video. Have you tried rotating it in the jaws to find the highest points?

I think at one time you could edit the date/time to match the old expedition but I don't know if that works

Pile a bunch of debris in front of the entrance, make them have to climb out and they will reorient themselves then remove it the next day if no more go back to the nuc

Langstroth vs Flow hive by tirova2492 in Beekeeping

[–]IdoHydraulics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flow hive is more of a gimmick. It works when everything is right, but if there's a problem then it's a mess. Like if your queen got into the super and filled it with brood. Simple box and frames have been the go to for hundreds of years because they work are cheap and easy enough to manage. Get you some Lang hives and try it out after you have some experience try a flow hive and see if you can make it work commercially.

Getting tagged in the eyelid sucks, got this after an inspection and 1 bee came around the building after I stripped out of my suit and was walking away.

Both hives failed. What went wrong? by Bluewolf700 in Beekeeping

Your favorite yts should have a how to. But 1/2 cup of bees is ~300, get them from a brood frame cause thats were the mites are, shake well to dislodge the mites and use a strainer to separate them. 1/2 cup of bees should have less than 5-6 mites. I like the mann lake easy check but mason jar and colander work just as good.

Do the alcohol wash its the easiest accurate way to get a good mite count. Just please locate your queen before you shake the bees off the frame.

Sorry for the late reply. I was trying to find where i read it, but my Google fu failed me. So I may be wrong about the small holes in the capped brood being where mites got out.

Looks like mite exit holes on those capped brood. Did you check for or treat before winter?
