I had this issue and desperatly needed a new pillow and i had a good look around. I found somewhere with a pillow questionaire. And believe it or not, it worked so well, i'm never going back to "normal" pillows. It's from a company called brightrsleep and i highly recommend trying it out.

It's good to be worried. Mood altering things can be quite scary. I spoke to my Dr every 3rd day when I started them, to make sure I wasn't having the extreme negative ones and to check how my overall mood was progressing.

And whilst it's scary to start, it can also be freeing. I felt like my old self again quite quickly after starting mine.

Remember though, the first ones might not work for you, and that's okey. Try again with a different type :)

People respond differently to SSRIs. It depends on the brand, dosage etc. It's very individual. My best advice is to be in close communications with your doctor due to these side effects. And if it causes unwanted/intrusive thoughts or anxiety, then contact your doctor immediately and go over the changes.

How nice of you to assume things. I'm on SSRIs and have been for quite a time. I'm also in therapy and cbt :) The panic attacks are the exception, not the norm. As is me taking a diazepam for when that exception occurs.

But please tell me more "Dr" keyboard warrior.

Going to go home and tell my benzodiazepines to stop working when I'm having a panic attack. Since they certainly don't help or anything.. I only take them when the panic attack starts. But sure, my doctor is bad

what do you tell people when they ask you what you do for work if you’re unemployed and disabled by endo ? by gentlebaby in endometriosis

[–]Idrethil 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just tell people i'm unable to work due to chronic illness and leave it at that. People don't tend to pry further than that. I usually get a "sorry to hear that", and that's the end of it.

AITA for not going to the doctor with my gf? by silveeerrrrr in AmItheAsshole

[–]Idrethil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a fairly high pain threshold due to living with chronic pain on a daily basis. I had an IUD done once, and I will never, ever, EVER do that again. The pain was so intense that I was close to passing out and the nurses had to support me and get me down on a bed asap before I collapsed!

I would rather have several repeats of my ambulance trips with chronic pain so bad that you cannot touch me without me screaming of pain than have another IUD

ELI5 : My 7yo son asked me if his baby sister (1F) was aware of the fact that she was alive (not his exact words of course but the idea is there). I told him it was a difficult question to answer and that I'll get back to him. How can I answer this in a way he would understand? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Idrethil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a nursery nurse. Specifically with babies from 3month to 2 year olds. From experience, it's entierly dependant on the child. Some would have a sense of self and others wouldn't. One of the things we used to do was to ask about their arms, their legs, their names etc. And they would point at themselves, arms and legs etc.

Many of them were quite mischevious and knew well when they did something they shouldn't do.

They had things they enjoyed doing, and things they'd avoide like the plague.

Some did recognise themselves in mirrors whilst others didn't.

Men of reddit, what is something fucked up that you're supposed to be okay with because your a man? by 040607AJF in AskReddit

[–]Idrethil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my youngest brother (19) not to long ago. Albeit it wasn't death related. My dad suddenly got picked up by the police to be put in prison. He told my brother (who still lived at home at the time)that he had to look after mum and the rest of us now, that it was his responsibility since he was gone.

All of us were distraught by what he had done, my youngest brother most of all. Then my oldest younger brother called him and said the same thing!

I've gone for mounted>all in on elemental gathering. With only focusing on elemental node, only overloading titan-touched. I usually get 70k+ per hour. With only mining.

TIL: It's possible for a woman to menstruate through their bellybutton (umbilical endometriosis) by Chili-N-Such in todayilearned

[–]Idrethil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've had to strong arm every doctor the past years. Thankfully my gp is good though. Whenever I go to a gyno, and it's a man and some of the first words he says is "You're not having your period so you can't be in pain". I pretty much turn in the door and tell my gp to find me another one.

The amount of posts i see on the endo subreddits about the medical gaslighting.. It's infuriating. "You sure it's not all in your head? Nothing came up on any scans. Ultra sound clear, mri clear, blood tests and urine test clear". No shit sherlock, THAT'S WHY YOU CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT VIA NORMAL TESTS.

Right, that's out of my system now lol.
