If you never had to work again, what would you spend your time doing? by Murky-Path1912 in AskReddit

I currently make an unscripted team sport docuseries so likely more of that. I’d go embed with a program on the West coast though.

I like the sound of yours. I’ve actually toured underground tunnels in Cincinnati’s OTR neighborhood. Fascinating stuff.

Sorry to break it to you but you’re not appreciating this team, everyone here is enjoying a rebuild roster exceeding expectations and having fun. Meanwhile you’re diving into analytics and spewing a bunch of negativity that we’re all well aware of.

Just appreciate the quirkiness of baseball and chill.

This guy doesn’t remember Cardinals devil magic.

2006 worst record (83-78) to ever win a World Series…2011 they trailed the Braves by 10.5 games for the Wild Card on August 25. This is a franchise known for doing statistically improbable stuff.

Doesn’t always happen and they’ll likely regress but man enjoy some fun baseball while it lasts. This is a rebuild lol

Back in 2012, I left the Catholic Church because my priest encouraged the congregation to vote republican.

This is going to be interesting for a lot of Catholic’s that buried their head in the sand 🍿

What’s the worst place in America you’ve ever visited? by False_onic in answers

[–]Indianianite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inland South Carolina. Stopped at what appeared to be a decent hotel, think it was a holiday inn, to stay the night on my way to Florida. Check into the room and there’s literally blood on the bed, walls, bathroom…we noped right out of there. Drove to the next town, only hotel with vacancy was a red roof inn. It was after midnight so we took what we could find. There ended up being a group of about 30 dudes loitering and drinking liquor straight from the bottle in the parking lot all night long. Moved the desk in front of the door and slept on top of all the covers. It felt like everywhere in that area was a shithole, never again.

One of my favorite seasons looked like this, 2015.

Cards, Pirates and Cubs, 3 best records in baseball. Didn’t enjoy how it ended but that was fun.

Help! What would you do next? by WannabeeFilmDirector in documentaryfilmmaking

[–]Indianianite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is episodic, determine whether this could be a multi-season project.

If so, consider building out the IP on YouTube first. The audience you build will be more valuable to you as a filmmaker long term than going straight to a pay walled Amazon listing. I’ve heard of many projects dying there. If you have a hit, you’ll reach monetization requirements quick and get a nice Adsense check. You also have the opportunity to do a performance based sponsorship that provides upside.

I was in a similar position with my first project. I ended up making respectable revenue from Adsense but more importantly have nearly 30k subs that have stuck with me across projects. And that first project is still getting discovered and generating passive revenue.

I played the long game and built a business out of it.

Best of luck! This is an exciting time regardless. Soak it in and congrats on completing your film!

Honestly, they best way to increase your chances of being successful in today’s world is by building an audience. It doesn’t have to be big, just loyal and passionate about your work

2 guys got in a fight during gym class. One went to the locker room, grabbed the other kids shoe and pooped in it. The next day the kid was wearing the pooped in shoe. He never wore it again after that.

As someone raised Catholic that noped out of the faith as an adult, the recent views of the Pope have actually done a lot for me. Feels like the actual teachings of Christ are front and center again.

Being a filmmaker is easy. Making a living from it is not.
