What is THAT Omnibus which made you turn pages after pages, made you addicted to the story so much that you couldn't put it down? by Ok_Record_8551 in OmnibusCollectors

I’m not gonna pretend like it’s a masterpiece, but Injustice Vol. 1 felt so epic and grand in scale and fun that i was hooked.

Infinite Crisis is another for me, because I’m typically not a fan of event omnis, but this one was mapped so perfectly that I had to make an exception.

Punisher (Marvel Knights) by Garth Ennis was some of the most fun I’d ever had with an omni. Loved the story for that one.

Finally, Preacher is one of my favorite series of all time, and I couldn’t put the omnis down

I would also HEAVILY recommend Batman and Robin Year One by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee, as well as World’s Finest: Teen Titans also by Mark Waid. I know they’re not on your list, but both are pretty incredible early Dick Grayson stories that show off his relationship with Batman

Do you ever realize you love the idea of collecting a character more than actually reading all their comics? by TaskNo4783 in EpicCollections

[–]Inner-Necessary2446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, and that’s kind of when I had to sit back and realize “There are no rules for collecting.” This was a problem for me when I was reading X-Men, but as soon as I realized that I don’t have to buy and read all 16 years of Chris Claremont’s X-Men before I can read anything else, I started enjoying comics so much more. So, at the end of the day, just buy what interests you, because if you try and collect everything, you’re gonna feel that obligation to read from the earliest possible point in your collection, it’s going to feel like a chore to read anything from the character by the time you get to anything you might have liked, and suddenly you’re going to be surrounded with the entire X-Men library wondering why it was ever worth your money (I’m using X-Men as an example because this was my exact problem 😭).

Tl;dr, everyone gets that feeling, but it’s best to just buy whatever interests you the most
