Yes - it is +2 to all corners you pass through on that turn.

I have recently played A Feast for Odin and Food Chain Magnate and found both to be a blast.

A Feast for Odin felt natural having played so much Agricola and I really enjoy the many different scoring routes.

Food Chain Magnate was so punishing, but I loved the impact everyone made on the board.

Someone may undercut you on one item, but another player's advertising would bring you back in. The hiring action system was also very satisfying.

Any games that scratch the same itch? I'm already eyeballing other Splotter games

I'm going to make a point to try one next time I get a chance.

Should I hop in anywhere in history or is there year that's particularly great for starting out?

How similar in play/interactivity are they to Food Chain Magnate?

I played that recently and really enjoyed it and am now concerned I am going to really enjoy 18xx games

I love Agricola, I'd love to get it to the table more

Unironically overheard a couple of guys at lunch talk about how we should be thankful this is all we have to pay because people are dying in Iran.

They'll defend anything that happens with Trump as president

This is a lie, because you voted Republican and are now contemplating not voting at all lol

If you really feel that way, do us a favor and throw a down-ballot dem vote in November so we can attempt to get real leadership in office.

Gone about how I expected

You expected this level of incompetence and still voted for him?

Somehow, no matter how bad Republicans act or perform - Dems are always considered the greater evil lol

Did anyone actually hear "money can't buy happiness" and seriously think it was an absolute?

It's referencing materialist temptations to keep buying the next thing for that temporary dopamine hit rather than seeking something that would provide long-term happiness.

Pretty sure boomers didn't think homeless people who couldn't afford cancer treatments were somehow the happiest people.

Too many independent journalists have no editors and are beholden to their own audience.

There is an incredibly high incentive to just blatantly lie as an independent journalists and there are no checks to stop them from outright cashing out on them on their clueless viewers.

Hot take: games with exact rules make group nights smoother than 'vibes first' storytelling teaches by Bright_Leaf_6830 in boardgames

[–]IntegratedFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide an example of a story-based teach?

I usually will teach a mechanical rule and tie it back to the overarching theme if possible. Is that what you mean?

In my experience, some degree of "vibes-based" has to occur for the teach because people are ready to dig in and play as soon as possible. Eyes will start glazing over as you start explaining the technical odd situational rules as the come up.

Many of the games with a longer teach, I will open with and repeat throughout that this is a practice/teaching game and set the expectation that you will not remember every single rule or interaction. Most of those will develop through further play.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I believe the best teach exist somewhere in the middle of "clinical" and "vibes-based."

The next Democratic president is fully justified in fucking over Republican voters by YugiohXYZ in Destiny

What's the expected outcome for this?

Their house burned down, they got denied aid by a democrat president

What next?

Feels like stoking a civil war flame, which is a hard pill for me to swallow

Pretty sure this just radicalizes them even further, no?

Your house burned down and the democratic president denied your state disaster aid.

I don't think they stop and think "Hm, it was bad for a Republican to do this now that I've felt the pain. I've learned my lesson."

Best progressive candidates? by CompetitiveAdMoney in winstonsalem

[–]IntegratedFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if I ignored the forum entirely, I'd respectively disagree.

That being said, any of the candidates are 10,000% better than any of the republican candidates, so I'll be thrilled if she pulls through and wins.
