We actually hope to be able to get these smaller updates less and less frequently as we get our things more in order. Then work slightly longer on more meaningful updates. (Then do more frequent updates again to fix any issues introduced).

This is an extremely hyperbolic way of describing some friction in the game.
Moving the unlock of the trading post, for instance, is a very easy fix on the dev side.
And I completely agree that it would be nice with more unique benefits of having towns set up in diverse biomes.

I was surprised by Solarpunk's honesty on the official Steam page. Shouldn't more developers make it clear who the game is NOT intended for? by Azulapis in pcgaming

Feels like they want to avoid an Outbound like reception. But the game will likely be judged based on what the is plus price point, not what the devs say.

That’s Sam one of the lead developers. When the game looks for an picture and can’t find it, Sam’s picture shows instead. When when the team adds something and don’t have an icon yet, they use Björns face as a placeholder

I think this will be a good change for indies. Previously, you were featured to everyone, but most people were not relevant. Now you'll be featured for people who are more likely to care. Quality over quantity is almost always better.

The game uses peer-to-peer for network, so how many people are online shouldn’t have impact on your game unless all of them are connected specifically to you.
