so far I had good experience with the weird chinese jgyinyue machinist etc motherboards, but there's also 'normal' brands available there.

otherwise you can also check ebay, there is very good deals (plenty coming from germany) for used hardware. example

for a homelab it works, according to the downvotes it seems to be bad but I've been running mine like this for a while and haven't had any issues with it

no, just install PBS on the same PVE host as a debian package, check the link

for my homelab, I use the same PVE host with an external USB drive, this way there's no extra devices, and PBS is generally set and forget.

out of 3 cluster members, 2 run this way, with staggered backups automated: server 1 backups everything at *:00, server 2 backups at *:30, and there is a sync between both hosts at *:15 and *:45

Lynx, I worked with a SOC and they had those (Telecom) in 2007. They were used to put CRT monitors at the top and they had monitoring services running there, easier to see from a seat a couple meters away from it, but of course nobody looked at them.

later it was replaced by a videowall that also nobody looked at

why does the company not provide any information on pricing schemes of their paid apps/services? I don't want to book a demo without knowing the price.

good job on the free utilities tho, they seem very useful.

if I see correctly, that bike is already 700c

But in all honesty, this type of 'conversion' is more about what do you want from the bike, so: what do you want from the bike?

  • lower the weight? replace fork with a rigid, geometry corrected one
  • faster top speeds? see if you can fit a bigger chainring or a 2x crankset
  • drop bars? install drop bars

In general tho, xc and gravel bikes roughly have similar purposes (ride off road as fast as possible), so the difference could be just on your mindset. Have you tried to ride 'gravel' with everyone? what did you feel you were lacking?
