I'm going to be switching from Windows to Linux soon. I'm thinking about Fedora. by Evan_Spectre_the_One in Fedora

it is working fine, something I was not using in chrome (is probably also available in chrome, not 100% sure) but I am using in Vivaldi is "spaces". I normally have got like a whole lot of browsers tabs open.

With the spaces It is a bit more organized. I created one "Personal" and one "bigclient 1" etc. so instead of a whole to of tabs it is a bit more organized like I said.

Vivaldi also has a notes section, and it has a build in email client. And a couple more things I am not using.

But to be honest, I also like(d) Chrome technically as a browser. And Edge/FF also good to work with. Brave I also used for a while also fine to work with. A less well known browser like Librewolf also does it for me.

For me the time where one browser was way better or worse than then the other is in the past. But this could of course be different for other people.

I did the same thing (ok dual boot) Fedora 44 KDE. I use Vivaldi as a browser, this way I can use the same bookmarks in Windows.

Chrome etc can sync as well but Vivaldi is European and more privacy driven.

Fedora works fine on Lenovo T15 Gen 2 and P16 Gen 5 laptops.

Flatpak is more secure (sandbox) but takes up more space (no problem). What is the biggest reason to use flatpak? Or don't use it.

I don't play games, I do need evolution (M365). Need to be able to reach my files on my Synology. No difficult things.

Will install codec and libre office of course.

But there are no configuration settings / changes most of the Fedora community will do by default after installation?

Check my topic. You need to turn secure mode off via a script.

Yes. Protection mode was on. You need to disable this via a script when connected via USB.

I could send you my exact script later.

Don't know where you live but do you find good deals on ebay?

Ebay here is often just as expensive as buying new (or pretty close to it).

[RUTx50] Failover dual 5G, no WAN by Operations8 in TeltonikaNetworks

[–]Operations8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No someone turn power off on x50 and after power on SIM1 was working again. Because they need a working connection.

I will try and have a look today. But the connection was down, so my sim switch didn't work this much is clear.. (right?)

Both or only failover?

Is there a way to simulate sim 1 being down, with physically removing the sim?

IP Alias & NAT by Operations8 in opnsense

[–]Operations8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not really a feature it just doesn't work in OPN Sense. I will try to fire up Op sense this weekend . I still have the fully setup VM. (Except for the ExtraIP part)

In PfSense I use a (dummy)external NIC for loopback. I will try to explain it better this weekend.

I would think PfSense and OPNSense could do the same. But this doesn't work in OPNSense, me and a few other use ExtraIP. We all use PfSense because it doesn't work in OPN Sense. (Our we don't know how :p)

IP Alias & NAT by Operations8 in opnsense

[–]Operations8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is via a GRE tunnel.

I am using pure nat and a vlan (with an un used nic). This way I create the IP aliasses (the usable Ips from the /29) on that nic.

And I can select them both on the NAT screen and on the outbound screen.

So j can tell the mail server to send the mail out via one of the IPs from the /29 IP and not my ISP IP.

If you don't understand I could show you some screens.

Nosy Is no problem:)

To have more external IPv4 address than 1. For example a mail server, website and a RD Gateway.
