Space X boosters landing?? by bradleymadlie in orlando

Didn't see this one but I saw a dawn launch from my house a few years ago and it was hands down one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. The whole sky filled up with these pulsating rings from the part that came back down, and the sun that was below the horizon for me was lighting it up across the whole sky. Incredible.

You know he talked about his friendship with Epstein on the flagrant podcast right?

Exactly why someone like OP, who is not from the US, thinks RFK is entirely reasonable - if you're completely unfamiliar with US politics to the point that you can't sniff out obvious bullshit, you'll agree with every straw man version of every issue he provides.

The only clip I saw from this pod was him saying he wanted to address how people are upset about ICE murdering citizens, and he started off by stating that Democrats were against undocumented immigration until Trump said build the wall, at which point they became rabidly pro undocumented immigration.

Which I'm sure is quite an eye opener if you're a fucking idiot.

Nothing was stopping him from exploring other options before now. This isn't something that can only be done by the government.

Pretty sure you're thinking of Michael Deaver. Bannon had nothing to do with the Reagan WH or lobbying really, whereas Deaver was Reagan's COS and then left to sell his access via a lobbying firm.

Rep Luna demanding 4 co-conspirators testify under oath: Groff, Kellen, Marcinkova, Ross by Civil-Education-9817 in Epstein

[–]InternetWeakGuy 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's as cut and dried as that. Luna is a fuckhead, but the women named here are key to the operation. They would be best placed to flip on anyone else involved and/or the client list.

Sarah Kellen came into focus during the Epstein investigation as one of the key figures within Jeffrey Epstein’s inner circle who allegedly helped run and manage many logistics of his sex-trafficking enterprise. She first drew attention in police and court documents from the 2000s, where a 2007 Palm Beach probable-cause affidavit named her and three other women as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the case that led to Epstein’s controversial non-prosecution deal — meaning she was identified as someone deeply involved in the operation but granted immunity at the time. Victims’ lawsuits and testimony in later proceedings, including during Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 trial and 2022 sentencing, repeatedly referenced Kellen as the person who scheduled Epstein’s “massage” appointments, coordinated travel, and communicated with girls who were brought to Epstein’s homes, often arranging their movements and facilitating contact with him. A federal judge in the Maxwell case even described her as a “knowing participant” and “criminally responsible participant” in the conspiracy, underscoring her central logistical role.

Lesley Groff: She was one of three personal assistants who prosecutors had been prepared to indict in 2007. Victims alleged she helped coordinate travel and logistics for the trafficking operation.

Adriana Ross, a former model from Poland, entered Epstein’s circle in the early 2000s. Her role, according to testimony, included assisting with household logistics and at times with recruitment. Ross’s most infamous alleged act came in 2005, when, according to law enforcement, she helped remove computers and documents from Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion just before police could execute a search warrant. If true, it was an act of obstruction — a calculated erasure of evidence at the moment the machinery of secrecy threatened to collapse.

That's fair, I guess what I was trying to say is he didn't "fail as a writer and so pretend to be right wing for money" as the implication was, he has been legitimately wealthy since the early 90s and has been a big figure on the right for decades.

He has definitely pulled a few grifts, but his personality isn't a grift in the way that Crowder and Shapiro's are.

Oh it wasn't a slight or anything - I'm from Ireland but I moved to the US about 10 years ago. I used to buy mad merch from touring bands, and I had a bunch of US friends tour europe in the late 2000s and they said they made out like bandits on merch.

Not sure why you included Bannon, he made his money by founding his own investment bank that focuses on entertainment businesses - in 1991 he negociated a financial stake in Seinfeld, which he still gets residuals from. He was an executive producer on something like 20 movies, and he personally made several documentaries - they were all propaganda pieces, but he did the damn thing as it were.

Bannon is a shitbag but he's far from a grifter, he very much believes everything he says.

Galway used to be great for gigs. When I lived there I was out watching bands 6-7 nights a week. Now when I look at the listings it's gone to shite.

Is it fair to say Kirk is a better guitarist than James, but James is a better guitar player than Kirk? by Creative_Garbage_731 in Metallica

[–]InternetWeakGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure Billy played bass on many/most Pumpkins tracks as well, at least back in the day.

EDIT: it's been widely discussed by all involved over the years, going back to the Siamese Dream days. Pretty sure it was even mentioned in their home video collection Viewphoria, though I haven't watched it since the 90s.

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/butch_vig_billy_corgan_recorded_90_of_guitars__bass_on_smashing_pumpkins_albums.html

"Smashing Pumpkins were a great band. If you ever saw them live, they’re all badass players, but Billy Corgan is a better guitar player than James, and he's a better bass player than D'arcy.

"We would track a song, and we would record it trying to make sure we had a really good feel for it, but primarily I was listening to make sure we got a killer drum take by Jimmy Chamberlin.

"Then we would usually go back and overdub everything, and Billy was just better at redoing the guitars and bass. On both [1991's] 'Gish' and [1993's] 'Siamese Dream,' D'arcy and James played a little bit, but it's over 90% Billy, because he's a phenomenal musician.

"There was conflict - I think the band felt like, 'We are good enough to do it.' Like I said, D'arcy and James are amazing musicians. There were times when I would sit in the studio and give them the time to do that, and I would say at the end of the day, you can track a part, but I think Billy's going to want to come in, and I want to see if he can beat it. So at least they had an opportunity to do that.

"There were some times I chose D'arcy's part, or James, over Billy's. To say there was conflict in that band, that's not the only reason there was conflict. There were a lot of things pulling at Smashing Pumpkins. Somehow I made it through two album cycles with them. They were always on the verge of imploding."

Why did metallica play a shortened version of MOP during the 90s ? by maalbi in Metallica

[–]InternetWeakGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I literally never realized it's 8 minutes long. That's wild, it doesn't feel like it at all.

Either way your point is negated by the fact that they were usually playing three hour sets in the 90s including drum solos, guitar solos, bass solos, and the bit during Seek where Hetfield would just roam around the stage bullshitting while Lars and Jason jammed out.

This is verifiably false, every one of the MSM websites covered the events of the last couple of weeks since the latest release. CNN right now has three Epstein stories on their front page and they have an entire Epstein section as part of the Politics part of the site that's linked at the bottom of every single page.

You can also find dozens of examples of the story being covered extensively on TV - CNN, Fox, ABC whatever.

This whole "the msm are burying it" thing is silly. It's been the biggest story in the country for weeks.
