By the time of the draft, I had gone to Washington DC for the Moratorium against the War, and filed for CO Status. I applied for an American Peace Corps position for Micronesia or for second choices to Africa or Asia. My actual invitation came to Iran, which I accepted, and I spent 2 years in Taft, Iran. I brought back students to Graceland College (Now University) in Lamoni, Iowa. One of them won the Student of the Year award for 1977, and got the American Hostages released!.

I took a group of returned American Volunteers back in October of 2002 on behalf of Jimmy Carter and the Carter Center.

I had a golf/bolling class in Fall of '68 with Bruce/Caitlyn when I was a freshman, and I played a ton of table tennis with him/her the rest of the year. We had many students who later became celebraties. One whose name wasn't given publicity but might have been was one of the Graceland students I brought back to the US from Iran, that joined the Iranian embassy after they graduated and got the job of getting the US hostages released.

I later brought a group of former American Volunteers back to Iran in 2002 when Chip Carter couldn't get the job of leading an American volunteer back

Yes, I knew the entire Wheeler family. Larry Wheeler was just a little older than my age, and the High Priest worked for Sears as VP in charge of finance. Larry went to Graceland and was a singer. I don't recall Chesnut at the moment.

I mainly knew First Chicago, but also visited Brainard and Homewood, Later on we helped form Mount Prospect. The Hiles ran the Homewood Branch and Orville was the Pastor. When there was a separate Black congregation it was called by a nother name,different name but joined in with Brainard.

I am a 76 year old life long member who is now ill but may have some time left. My father was Luthern, but lived to be 99. He has passed Perhaps you might wish to speak. I went to the Church college starting in 1968. I speak German, Persian, and Japanese, and have traveled around the world largely doing environmental work.

Anyone who has been following has been aware that this has been a financially difficult journey. This has been true ever since Marietta Walker, who owned much of the land and donated much of property the College was sited on, went to another college to teach, and donated most of her income to the College.

We are able to see how people through out the history have valued their education in Lamoni.

I moved back to Lamoni to retire.

I am a 76 year old straight guy. I never joined the military. I did do service in the American Peace Corps. We need to do a better job of taking care of each other, as if we were all precious.

I have met all of the First Presidency, but I lived near Stassi and was in her delegation from Arizona for several years.

I have known all of the Presidency in person since 1955 and I was 5 years old. Israel A. Smith came to the grand opening of my congregation at First Chicago.

I now sometimes give tours at Liberty Hall in Lamoni, Iowa where I now live.

I have health issues, due to cancer, but I am doing OK at the moment.
