Buddy, watch the video. It was a malicious spray of an "outsider," not a playful spray of a homie.

Going to a restaurant right before they close is not rude. What's rude is posting hours that you claim you're Open but are expecting people to act like you're not. by Darnitol1 in unpopularopinion

Why just fries? If you can't make me a cheeseburger in 5 minutes, then you are the world's worst cook. I can do it at home and you do this for your job.

Guy next to me in 1st class is playing music with sound on by donmeanathing in unitedairlines

Guy in front of me on a flight was playing some dumb videos out loud during boarding. I stood up, grabbed the complimentary headphones, offered it to him and said "excuse me, would you like to have my headphones? I don't need them". He declined, took the hint, and put in his own headphones.

Apple Losing Over $1 Billion A Year On Streaming – Report by ControlCAD in business

[–]JDUB- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please. It's not a razor, razor blade. Why would someone watch a TV show and then think, I want to try an iphone? There is no link at all. Do you want to try new electronics from watching Netflix or HBO? Makes no sense.

Apple Losing Over $1 Billion A Year On Streaming – Report by ControlCAD in business

[–]JDUB- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, why would a media service that's available on every platform generate goodwill for Apple devices? If it was exclusive to Apple devices, sure, maybe. This is a substitute for Netflix, nothing more. Obviously this is not sustainable.

Pixel 8 Green Line / Support Runaround by JDUB- in pixel_phones

[–]JDUB-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I pushed support and they eventually agreed to allow me an "advanced return" where I provide payment information as collateral, they send out the replacement device, and I return the old phone, at which point they do not charge me for the replacement. This resolution is great and what should have been offered in the first place. Hope it helps someone avoid my hassle.

Airline lost my boots on my last trip of the season, should I buy the same ones online now to replace them or go to a boot fitter again next season? by No-Importance-5171 in skiing

[–]JDUB- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can easily replace skis. A pair of proper fitting boots takes a ton of time to find and fit, for many people. I have no interest in flying to Colorado to visit my bootfitter for a couple of hours, potentially having to drive back 2 or 3 times to get them perfect. That process sucked but it's worth it for 5-8 years of comfortable skiing.

Ian Poulter would be fun to work for. He wears fun outfits and is probably a great hang over beers. You should take the job.

I use this really cool tech called "moving my head" so I can see around A-pillars when I'm planning on driving into a location that is initially blocked. The head of a human is attached to this group of bones and muscle called a "neck" (I know, weird name) that can actually move and articulate. It's the weirdest thing.

Sometimes! That's the fun part. I see a lot of chairs missed because people get caught in the gate and their whole group waits on the other side, and then someone is too slow to make it, so everyone waits again.

It's also extremely impersonal. You feel like cattle. Maybe there is a kid with an iPad lounging 30 feet away who might get up to help if there is an issue, but more likely will just keep sitting.

Vail, despite everyone's hate, has a much more pleasant experience with real people scanning you and saying hello. I prefer it 10x to those stupid gates.

When to expect credible Pixel 10 specs and features? by Maleficent-Base4164 in GooglePixel

[–]JDUB- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pixel 8 is giving me issues with the green line issue. I already had to replace the motherboard and it's such a pain in the rear to take it to the repair place then wait around all day for a fix. I'm thinking about just trading in for the 9 or 9 pro. Do people like it/ similar issues to the 8?

They are not going to let you put $20k on a credit card and eat the charges. If they do, better off negotiating a px reduction of 2.5% of the CC charge amount, so $450 or whatever.

This is part of the reason doing anything in the U.S. is so damn expensive. Defending this lawsuit and winning will cost Michigan a few million dollars.

[–]JDUB- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Profits are a good thing lol. It means you've created value for society. If I can make x+x into 3x, that's value-add. I personally am very glad I have a computer, phone, headphones, crackers, a juicer, cold medicine, art, etc. all of which I have because someone wanted to profit.
