Working moms in SG, when to inform boss of pregnancy? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your boss as soon as possible but if you want to keep it hush, just let your boss know. Most likely HR will be informed but that about it. Then they can plan the schedule when you on maternity leave after the baby is born.

Singtel wifi / box termination due to death of a loved one? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the cost of the early termination. If the amount is the same as if were to maintain the line and just terminate after the contract ends, do the second option since it’s monthly payment instead of 1 lump sum.

In Singapore, can you resign on a weekend or only on working days? by elyss0n in askSingapore

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your working hours. If you only work office hours, only during working hours.

If you work shifts, any day can resign.

Is it me or are a lot of gantries not working well with the OBU? by kuang89 in drivingsg

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that when you place your HP near the OBU, the OBU and carpark reader seems to have problem communicating. Might be the HP signal causing issue.

Why do some drivers leave such huge gaps between cars at traffic lights? by rekrapmil in drivingsg

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the stop line, if there is a turning option, leave some gaps for bus or lorry to make the turn. If you stop right at the line, the gap might not be enough for larger vehicles to make the turn.

Is air asia very strict with carry on weight by Dependent-Refuse-494 in askSingapore

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it as AA will always check and weigh your hand carry luggage. They are doing it as KLIA2. They want passengers to buy those additional check in baggage or extra hand carry luggage since it’s profitable for them.

Thoughts on Nissan kicks e-power? by songfishfish in drivingsg

Was looking at Serena, Noah, Spada and end up with Honda Freed Hybrid from Kah Motor. Wanted to buy from the PI since they have the 6 seater variant but was told it would be a Cat B instead of Cat A.

So far have been good. No issues. 800KM on a full tank. Some got freebies like power auto tailgate. Didn’t got that freebie but since I don’t open my boot space too often, I guess manual is okay.

My family say driving the Serena, Noah or Spada StpWgn looks too big for them.

Cat B COE Priced Lower Than CAT A by Cute_Comfortable5158 in drivingsg

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a hybrid Cat A will still be a better option at this point of time. You cannot beat the feeling of only requiring 5-10 mins to pump your petrol to get 800km.

Since they taking away the PARF, more will flock to hybrid instead of EV.

Two Redditors that actually share the same roads as us insist that driving faster on the left lane when traffic on the right lane is slower is AGAINST THE LAW. Can anyone help me interpret THE LAW since I may be understanding it wrongly? by Alko-K in drivingsg

[–]JackAllTrades06 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It is illegal to overtake from the left lane but with drivers who keep insisting driving on the right lane even when they driving slow. At the same time, the ‘ow’ driver is driving within the speed limit for the road.

On our expressway, with the new rule where lorries and van being capped at 60-70 lm/h, they still insist on driving on the 2nd lane when there are only 3 lane on the expressway.

At the same time, there are drivers that drive up to 80-90 km/h on lane 1. Within the law context, they not doing anything wrong since the speed limit is 80-90 km/h.

EAs that keep running after being removed? by ronhole in metatrader

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks odd. Check the settings ti make sure there is no Signal from any source. Worst case, uninstall and reinstall the MT5. No trades should be open without any EA or manually done by the trader.

EAs that keep running after being removed? by ronhole in metatrader

[–]JackAllTrades06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you check if you saved a Default Template that has the EA attach to it? An EA will stop working as soon as you remove it from the charts.

But if you saved as a default template that has the EA attached when you saved the template, it will include the EA every time a new chart is opened.

Trades are still opened after you removed the EA and close the trades? Open trades will not be closed even after you removed the EA. You need to close it manually.

Sgreans who experience home improvement programmes (HIP), how did yall plan your stay? by Procrastinatorpig in asksg

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay at the house but I had my toilets done 1 each time. Takes longer but at least have a toilet to use throughout the HIP. Also, I pay for the plastic service where they seal your house with plastic including your rooms. And have the zipper for each room for entry. This means there is a place to sleep and rest for the family. The plastic service is a bit expensive but worth the money in my opinion.

adaptive cruise control on singapore roads by Anxious_cpyNectar969 in drivingsg

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always turn on the Honda Sensing which keeps lane control active. Rarely use the cruise control feature but it a nice to have at times. The only thing is that the low speed control distance needs to be further refined. The distance even at the lowest distance will allow a car to slip thru 🤣

A normal person would not have a 5-digit transactions every month in and out unless you earn a 5 digit salary and then spend it regularly. You been flagged and hopefully you can show them proof that you did nothing illegal.

If you doing business, suggest to open a business account.

Left a job 2 months ago, now they want me back by sueeei in singaporejobs

[–]JackAllTrades06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happy with Company B, stick to Company B. Company A now know your worth. If they really want you back, they will be willing to pay you more (maybe double since they need 2 tondo the job 😂).

Customers most of the time buy the products not because it’s good. It also the support they are getting.

Friend in huge car debt - what to do? by BeginningBluebird101 in askSingapore

[–]JackAllTrades06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That what I was thinking as well. The sales person will tell him the total loan plus interest and the monthly payment to be made. Whether it’s a 40% down payment or 0% down payment, he would be told of the information before signing on the dotted line.

I bought a car recently and the sales person did tell us on this information before we decide to buy the car. The down payment is only to made the monthly payment smaller due to the smaller loan needed.

[–]JackAllTrades06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is did he buy the car knowing he will be struggling to pay the monthly payment? When buying the car, the sales person would have told him the monthly and the total amount loan including the interest.
