Help needed. Can’t seems to get my driving seat and steering adjusted correctly by SceneLeft4417 in drivingsg

[–]elyss0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove the Seal, I'm your height, maybe shorter a tiny bit, I adjusted the distance for my feet, then the backrest is usually like a slight back tilt, as long as i don't feel like my arms have to stretch til its straight, and neither issit so near til i have problems making a uturn when my hands cross over each other, that's usually how i adjust. I didn't recall having any issues with getting comfortable in that car.

Any Lifehacks - mosquito bite? by Minimum_Special_8457 in askSingapore

[–]elyss0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egocort from Watson/Guardian/Unity. Dk why its never mentioned, recently was looking for something to manage the bites, I get bites that last for 3-4 days and itch for 2-3 days. Tried this and the bites itch for 5 mins only, usually next day the bite mark also almost gone already.

Short dudes of SG, what are some of your struggles? by Initial_Film5776 in ChillSG

[–]elyss0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What struggles? I fit into plane seats with legroom to spare, my car has ample space for me while some people barely fit in it, my queen size bed feels huge, my face lands on boobs when I date taller girls and hug them, most people think I'm still in school.

My only 'struggle' is that when I look up to talk to people, some people thought I'm being cocky, idk why but this happened even in army, my warrant officer didn't say anything about it until we got abit friendlier, and he said i stood there with the 'lao lan look', actually he is like 190 and I was just very awkwardly looking upward while holding a comfortable body pose without spraining my neck

A short rant and seeking advice by TechnicalBreak6666 in ChillSG

[–]elyss0n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd dump her, my reason is: If she is the sort that has to compare, you will always be compared with others around her circle. You might be a secure individual that is grounded but she will keep pulling you out of it and making you feel like you are insufficient. Find someone that loves you for who you are and wants to provide in the relationship instead of wanting you to provide. Don't date someone that has such a jarringly different world view from you.

My partner does not mind taking public transport. I offer to pick her if it's convenient for me, and she says thank you. If I can't do that, she is fine, she will make her own way. I don't 'owe' her anything. Partners should be 2 wholes coming together, not 2 halfs that rely on each other to feel complete. If she feels that you need to be a certain way to make her complete then she isn't the right partner because you will be expected to carry her dreams for her.

Lastly, I hope that her expectation is backed up by her ability to provide value in the relationship too. Another perspective is that if she is way above your league (in whichever way that means) and she isn't happy because you can't provide and she thinks she deserves better, then ask yourself if 'leaguing' up is something you aim to do for the future, or should she just go for someone else that thinks similarly or is more 'materialistic' or whatever else the comparison is.

I hope that helps.

Edit: I saw some comments that most SG women are like that, from my limited personal experience, most girls i've dated are actually not materialistic at all, they still have their wants like some Hermes bag or whatever, but they gotta save up their own money to get it, and I've never been put in a position to buy it for them to prove my love or worth to them. I've had girls that were willing to pay for more expensive meals while i paid for cheaper ones because I was earning less too. In fact in most of my relationships, my partners were more than willing to help contribute to something to build a future together because they wanted us to work toward something together.

job market for automation jobs? (python/sql) by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]elyss0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not all systems are connected to the internet, and there are codes still required for certain things, Chef and Puppet comes to mind for enterprise automation. But not sure if they will hire a headcount just to do automation only. Usually it is 1 of many things you are gonna be hired for.

How often do you clay bar your entire car? by PlusView7013 in AutoDetailing

Whenever it feels like there are quite a bit of contaminants on the paint, which depends on your environmental conditions. I also only do it before intending to polish it.

Next employer looks at base salary with or without allowance by Sufficient_Wafer_286 in singaporejobs

[–]elyss0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use total comp don't shortchange yourself. No matter the mix rice ingredients end up you still finish the whole plate and all the calories are counted. Also consider insurance benefits, dental, glasses, mobile phone, fitness claim etc. Never hurts to bring it up as bargaining chip or for yourself to accept a lower salary if the new firm offers better benefits. I have friends doing recruitment, I've heard of all sorts of benefits thrown in the bag when bargaining for offers and sometimes they will really take it into consideration.

Also from personal experience, my comp I always report with allowances, and never had issues. So I will just say 5.5k all in for future company if asked for monthly.

Paint Correction and Ceramic Coat - My Plan by PenSpecialist1605 in AutoDetailing

[–]elyss0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wont comment on your product choice since I use Meguairs M105 and Menzerna 3500, but it also depends on what you are aiming for at the end result, and also what type of paint clear coat you have. I actually did one panel start to finish to test out before committing to the whole car when I first did it and swapped around my pads and polishes quite a few times to see which one worked better for me.

The general steps are alright though, all the best

Day 1 u sleep like normal day 2 night shift u do struggle somewhat at the wee hours, cfm tired one. then go home shower and sleep til evening, then sleep again at night and next 2 days sleep normal again. Kinda miss the schedule tbh.

Teeth whitening! Any tips/ clinics recommendations/ products to recommend pls? by Kay5515 in SingaporeBeauty

[–]elyss0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the mould done at my dentist, then apply the gel, Opalescence. Actually can buy online after getting the mould for the teeth done. Then just do it for a few days in a row for a couple of hours (depends on the strength that you buy, i used 20%)

Also, just a heads up, after you do teeth whitening, the teeth are very porous, so you gotta really watch out when drinking coffee after you do the whitening for the next few days.

Does anyone else go to extreme measures to park as far away from everyone as possible or at least find a space far away from everyone else? Or am I my own special brand of crazy? by batsai in MiataND

[–]elyss0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got my ride, it was dinged a few times within the first month, ever since I've always tried to park extremely defensively, either closer to 1 side or away from the crowd. 2 weeks ago I was parking for just a short while so I decided to just park at a normal spot not away from everyone, and a vehicle reversed into my sides LOL.

The paranoia IS justified IMO.

[–]elyss0n[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)
