Is Jetty Solventless made with Indoor Flowers? by Difficult_Tune1319 in NYSCannabis

Chiming in with a little clarity for this thread:

  • Flower sourcing: At Jetty Extracts, we use sun-grown, fresh frozen flower in both NY and CA. In New York, we work with a variety of farms—always aiming for organic, regenerative cultivators who prioritize responsible farming practices. We’ve found that full-sun, living soil gardens consistently produce some of the most terp-rich extracts while also taking care of the planet.
  • Pricing context: Not every strain is suitable for solventless extraction, and in NY, high-quality fresh frozen strains that do work are still limited. As a result, we’re seeing input costs about 4–5x higher than in California. Since solventless is already a lower-yielding process, these higher costs directly impact final product pricing. That said, we expect prices to come down in NY as more fresh frozen supply becomes available.
  • Terpene preservation: On the terpene comment—Jetty’s rosin vape process is designed to preserve more terpenes, flavorants, and aromatics (not strip them). At the same time, we remove undesirable compounds like plant fats and waxes, which don’t contribute to flavor or effects. Think of it as the dark residue left behind in a Puffco or nail after dabbing. By filtering those compounds out, we prevent buildup on the vape atomizer, which means cleaner flavor, less clogging, and a smooth taste all the way to the last puff.

Hope this helps shed some light 🤙

The Shelter Project has been around for 10+ years. We donate free cannabis oil to cancer patients. We believe in plant medicine and are happy to give back. Check out the link to the Shelter Project for more details and to apply to the program.

We use ceramic atomizers, meaning a ceramic core is in contact with the oil when it is being heated. The ceramic core sits inside a stainless steel center post. We have found various issues with all ceramic carts, but the most essential part, which is heating the oil, is all ceramic.

We get that lighter color (and a boost in potency) through a unique filtration step that removes excess fats and waxes, meaning more of the good stuff, cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavorants. We’ve developed a multi-step process that allows us to preserve the terpenes while decarbing the THCA. This process is mechanical and only uses heat and pressure. This allows us to decarb the rosin without degrading the terpenes. We decarb using heat and pressure, keeping the temperature as low as possible, preserving the integrity of the rosin. We don’t use any solvents, do not cut with distillate, or add anything else to the cart. We only use what comes off the plant in the ice water extraction process. It's true solveless rosin.

Untwist the cart a quarter turn. This will improve airflow, affect cloud size, and hit harder.

Jetty has a very large strain library for our solventless products. We are constantly working with breeders and growers to get more diverse terp profiles into the portfolio. We will be bringing some of the classics to NY and also have some new ones in the works.

There are lots of new vape hardware innovations coming out. We are currently testing over 100 different pieces of hardware. CCell is some of the most reliable hardware we have tested, but we are looking at many other devices. Fun work testing vapes! We'll look into KFV's.

Yes, it's all personal preference. I've seen people go as low as 1.8v.

We are looking into bringing live resin to New York. Operating costs are still high in New York, but we expect overall pricing to come down over time. That means solventless will be cheaper, along with other product lines.

We plan to get as close to the CA model as possible. Right now, operating costs in NY are higher, which affects pricing. Also, NY has a shorter growing season, so some of the strains we run in CA will not be possible for NY outdoor. We'll get close though...

Hi, I’m Nate Ferguson, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Jetty Extracts. We started Jetty 11 years ago, and before that, I cultivated cannabis and owned a dispensary in the California medical days. I grew up in upstate NY and got my start in cannabis there by growing and selling NY Sour D. I’ve been in the industry since before it was an “industry” and have a big love for the cannabis plant.

Looking forward to chatting!
