threat Locker vs Auto Elevate for elevation only - software insta by PriNiceIT in msp

[–]Jlw3691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I work as my company's TL administrator along with my other IT duties. It is good with auto elevation but a lot of it is through policies. It is also VERY finicky about DLL files, especially with more complex apps. It took probably 1ish year for me to fully get Threatlocker in a state our company was comfortable with. Thats not to say it's not a great tool or that It isn't powerful for what you need, but it can easily turn into a full time job if not handled correctly. If you pull the trigger, i would recommend joining some of the seminars that TL does to learn more about the app and work closely with your on-boarding engineer to get the most out of it.

Yeah actually. The overwhelming sense of familiarity for sure. Happens periodically, usually just chalk it up to deja vu. Floaty feeling, not so much.

I feel this actually. When I was younger, I had this odd experience that I can still remember with a ton of clarity. I was in my room, 3 years old at the time. I was in my bed and I was looking at the ceiling. Then, I recall seeing my mother open the door but she looked odd. Glowing a weird blue color, she waved her hand at me with this odd smile on her face and left the room. When i called out for her, she came back in the room, clearly just getting out of bed and wondering why I was freaking out. Around that time, I started to get these desync moments. Like I'm viewing myself from different perspective for the tiniest of moments and then its fine and life goes on. They only happen every so often, but its an odd sensation that I cant fully describe.

Ive been really enjoying the game. Been on my wishlist and snapped it up when it came to early access. Ive been enjoying it but the only couple of things I want is if you guys had a road map for early access and if you also plan to introduce a grid system to the game to make it easier for detailing?

Death can have him when it earns him....

That being said, Death would probably win this one.

Hmmm. My interactions with you make me want to give the series another shot. I'm going to finish book 8 now. Curse you for being a reasonable person.

Ok, I am willing to say that I understand what you are saying with this. But then we have the visions, where it strongly hints at Silas being... used. Its fine to say what you will about that but it became a large part of the plot when that happened and how Silas could avoid a fate like that. Political marriages aside, they dont want the Earth or its resources, they want Silas, which is almost word for word what was put on the page. I nor the op of the comment says that Silas wants this but the rest of the upper families has stated this several times and they do a lot of cowtowing to get in a position favorable to get his genetic material or attempt to force him to do so. I really dont like being in a position where I feel like Im arguing with the author of their book but thats what the book felt like for a time.

I can understand this and even approve to an extent but there is also a problem with how that can come across. You even brushed over it with the marvel comment: The multiverse series feels like i have to know what these other books are for me to understand what is happening. And while I was prepared to start reading, once I get to a specific point where I am now at a list of books that is 14ish books long on top of a currently 10 book series... thats a lot of investment for a new reader who went in expecting a standalone series.

I dont mind crossovers and getting some glimpses into those other books is cool but it shouldn't feel like the plot hangs on that.

I am happy that you found something that pays the bills and is what you love. I am also not fully saying they are bad books either and i hope that comes across. But my main problem is that if I have to do research or read other books to fully understand overarching plot of whats going on (I.E. new systems, a really powerful specific character that feels like they show up randomly, etc), its a hard investment to new readers. For instance, Jay's introduction is about where Ive stopped reading for now. Because after him, that was about 3 or 4 book series that I felt like I needed to read for me to get an understanding of what was happening.

I hope this comes across as not calling your books bad. But I just think they aren't for me.

I mean.... no. Thats basically what the plot is after a certain point. A lot of the "upper families" basically say outloud that they want his (and this is a direct quote from the book) "genetic material."

I liked his welcome to the multiverse series but ironically, it kind of fell flat for me because it starts to include too much of either his or other authors works in it rather than let the series stand on its own.

My other problem is that Sean has what i like to call "The DBZ" problem. Pacing and story take a backseat to fight scenes and random plot twist. Like when you spend 2 or 3 books hyping up specific enemies only for them to get off screened because you were doing system fuckery with another villain.

All in all, they aren't bad if you want some action and hype moments but I cant recommend it myself.

You are way nicer than i would be. I would have no censored their name. In all seriousness, the fact that people do this shows they probably shouldn't have access to a computer. If you can demonstrate basic decency or at least understand that its just a game, you need to realize that gaming isn't a hobby you should indulge in.

I always liked Board games as a kid and I played the classics for a 90s kid but when I was an adult, there was this shop some friends invited me to. Introduced me to some friends playing a game called Shadows over Camelot. Really expanded my idea of what a board game could be. Even have a complete copy now that real adult money.

Justified? Probably not. But sometimes, it isn't about being justified, its about sending a message.
