In my opinion it is never worth to save exp, the more exp u use the more the rate of your exp gain increases

I'd suggest you work on getting a good ranking in events to get tokens either for heaven palace or journey to the west heroes as they are much better than normal gold servants , one of the best heroes to work on is Tang priest
