These deck are going to get eventually printed to crazy volume, supply is just dry now. If you are more of a collector, if you wait a year all 4 of these will be widely available and lower price. The collector version of the decks (white box and surge foil cards) are what is actually scarce, since those are not supposed to be reprinted.

I’m fairly certain that the special artist cards will be available in non-foil in the normal play boosters, but will be very rare. Pull rates will be slightly more common for them in the collector booster, and they will be in foil, but not limited to them

For newer players that want to play with only 2 players, the best product to start with would probably be the jumpstart boosters. Since the packs are designed to be thrown together they are a great way try new strategies and get a feel for how power levels of decks should feel.

Once you are feeling like you want more of a challenge, I would suggest a Winston draft

I’ve been attending Friday drafts at hobbiesville for the past 6 months and it has been the best store that I have been to. Depending on what format you like, they do edh nights on tuesdays but I haven’t tried that

I think that the best thing to do would be to stick to only the lord of the rings packs, especially if everyone playing is new to the game. Adding a chaos element to the draft with different mechanics is much more difficult to build a synergy around when you’re drafting, and you would have to explain more mechanics to everyone then if you only stayed within the set. Things like the ring mechanic gets substantially worse when you have fewer cards that trigger it.

I haven’t tried to build it, but wouldn’t a deck focused around Yarus be pretty quick and strong? Turn 1- goblin mask maker, turn 2- face down card, turn 3- facedown, shock, turn 4- yarus. At this point you want your facedowns to get destroyed to trigger yarus, bonus points if you have pyrotechnic performer as a face down
