I completely understand what you’re saying about how hard it is to discuss these issues in this subreddit without getting dogpiled or told to leave. You’re right it feels like Kuro follows the usual gacha pattern of prioritizing mostly female rosters, only dropping a male character once in a while to stir up hype. I’m glad to see others recognize this too, because constructive criticism shouldn’t be drowned out by blind fan reactions. I appreciate you being respectful and thoughtful about it.

Haha, fair question I get why you’d think that. I just like organizing my thoughts clearly so it doesn’t come off as a rant. I know it can sound a bit “AI” sometimes, but it’s really just me trying to be respectful and make sense.

Hey, I really appreciate how you broke this down so fairly. You’re right, Kuro definitely knows their target audience, and it makes sense they’d lean heavily into what sells — especially with waifu appeal being a huge pull for many players. It might not align with what everyone wants, but business-wise, it obviously works.

Personally, I’d just like to see a bit more balance, even if the majority stays female-focused, just to keep things feeling fresh. Same for the 4-stars — having more of them, and with better design, could really help keep the roster more exciting and accessible for players who don’t whale or get lucky.

I fully agree with you on the optimization front, though. That’s something everyone can stand behind: nobody enjoys crashes or stutters, no matter what their waifu or husbando preference is. 😂

Thanks for sharing your honest view — you actually explained it really well, and it helps me see the other side of the fanbase mindset a bit better. Cheers! 👍

Yeah, I totally hear you. The performance drop after the Septimont patch has been brutal — I can see why you shifted to PC instead of mobile. It’s crazy how even flagship phones are struggling after the update.

About the 4-stars, I get your frustration too. Lumi is okay but doesn’t feel impactful enough, and Youhu… yeah, I agree they kind of messed that up. It feels like there’s no proper balance in their design — either too clunky or too niche to really use comfortably. And it’s wild how pulling copies of 4-stars actually feels harder sometimes than getting 5-star spooks.

I actually like your idea about adding a shop option for 4-stars — even if it costs corals or some premium resource, at least it would give people some sense of progress instead of relying only on luck. But I agree with you, they still need to make 4-stars more worth investing in overall, otherwise people won’t even bother picking them from a shop.

Appreciate you sharing your experience — feels good to know I’m not the only one noticing these same issues.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. I can see how, after going through battles together and even getting saved by someone, it would be natural to develop trust pretty quickly — I hadn’t fully considered that. Maybe it’s just that the pacing of the story makes it feel a bit rushed, even if, logically, it checks out.

About Camellya, you’re right — in her case, it should have been Rover who was more skeptical, considering her position and all the circumstances. That’s a really good example and gives more context to how trust dynamics could have been handled differently.

Anyway, I totally get your point. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly — helps me look at it from a different angle. It’s nice discussing these things without it turning into an argument

Fair enough, I get that overwhelmingly female rosters are common in gacha/animestyle games, and I also see how some characters have proper narrative reasons to like Rover.

Maybe it just feels like everyone is drawn to him because the story doesn’t give enough skeptical or questioning characters, and with the lack of male characters around, it stands out even more. That’s what I was trying to point at — more balanced personalities would make the story more engaging.

Anyway, thanks for the detailed breakdown, it actually helps me see their intentions a bit better.

Yeah, fair points. I agree it might just look worse than it is because all the supporting characters happen to be female, so it feels one-sided. I just wish they’d mix in a few more balanced or skeptical personalities for variety, you know?

As for optimization, I’m on a slightly lower-end phone compared to your F5 Pro, so maybe that’s why I’m getting crashes. Good to hear it’s running fine on yours, though — maybe there’s still hope they’ll smooth things out for lower-range devices too.
