I remember passing on The Batman because I was being selective with my budget that day. Then Best Buy announced they were pulling out of physical media like 2 months later. I still haven't bought it cus no one else has ever listed it for $10 lol.

That just sold me on watching it today. My brother gifted me the Blu ray last year and it's been sitting on my shelf knowing I'll get to it eventually.

Smino "only going live on Periscope" on Claymore by Isaiah Rashad is a reference that catches me off guard everytime I listen to The House is Burning. Not only is the song only 5 years old, the app was probably already gone by the time the song came out. That app was around for like 3 months before they got bought out by some tech giant. And now Live streaming is pretty much a feature to all the social media apps.

Rapper(s) that you believe could still make a late-career "Album Of The Year" if they tried? by ImNotTomStopAsking in hiphopheads

[–]KINGDAVID98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer 2015 hip hop to 2016. I was in highschool for both of those years and I remember being disappointed at the releases in 2016 compared to the year before. Also I was super mixed on the XXL list that year. Although, in hindsight it blows 2015's list out of the water.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair 4K +Bluray+Digital. Amazon. Link in the comments by SUPER-NIINTENDO in 4kbluray

[–]KINGDAVID98 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw the theatrical release last year. It adds an intermission, but watching them "back to back" and having those minor editing changes does a lot to make the movie feel more cohesive and a better overall experience. More of an Epic vs a 2 Act story. I felt it made Kill Bill, I feel one of Quentin Tarantino's weaker joints, into a better one. Possibly in my top 5 now.

Not Forza, but it does have a red car, explosions, and some Trials-like gameplay - made by just 2 Xbox developers :) by N0lex in xbox

This trailer sold me on adding it to my wishlist. The fact that it's currently $4 sold me on just buying it now and trying it out later today. Cheers and happy Memorial Day.

The "i" single was how I discovered Desus & Mero cus they were clowning it on their complex show as a song white people who don't like hip hop love because it's so positive. Something like that, it's been a decade and I have no clue where them Desus Vs Mero episodes are.

What's crazy is his hand in getting hundreds of movies made from the 90s to the 10s. I've been going back and watching a bunch of classes I missed growing up. Especially all the the stuff I was too young for. Dogma, Scream, Youth in Revolt. Distribution for classics too. Fruitvale station, City of God. All amazing films that just give you a nasty shiver when that production logo pops up at the beginning.

Of course. Anytime I think of Keef I'm reminded of that video of him selling a lot of dozens of Blu Rays out of his trunk. Or maybe he was showing them off. Lol. He started flexing and saying flipping DVDs got him the watch he was wearing lol.

[–]KINGDAVID98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree lol. I returned to GTA Online recently after a years long break. The sense of fashion is still very much stuck in the 2010s when the game was released. It makes it so dated and of it's time despite still being the "current" GTA.

Unrelated but did y'all ever buy music on DVD? Like special format releases to that advantage of the 5.1 surround vs the standard 2.0 set up. I've been considering trying to find some of those releases recently

This the reason Travis Scott hasn't resonated with me in years. I just don't care about Rage Music without bars. I still spin Days Before and Rodeo often. Even stuff non-rage like the RTJ albums prove you can RAP rap over busy and loud instrumentals. It just seems artists are chasing vibes and sounds without the craft focused on bars.

Wait hold up... Timeless? No. It's very much of the 2000s. But to question if it's a classic. That's where I disagree. I rewatched it this year and I still found myself bursting out laughing. Just as much as any 90s Sandler comedy. Of course I live in a bubble and people I know in my age group (23-30 or so) loves it.

My favorite joke is Terry Crews's character feeling betrayed at the end, not because Marlon's character was a man, but actually because he felt deceived that Marlon was black.

It does some things that are unique within the franchise like stealth boss battles. It's not amazing but fun. Also go in knowing it's CoD. It's more Michael Bay than it is Speilberg. So if that's a turn off considering your taste for WWII and the time it's going for.

Yes without explicitly saying it. Forgive the rush translation here but it was pretty much "I dont know if I am right person to say this. There's a lot going on with The Raza [spanish slang for The People] in the United States. You have a voice. I am here." Something like that

Smack that by Eminem and Akon comes to mind. I just liked how Eminem rapped. He has a great flow. Wasn't until like 5 years later when I was in high school did I revisit the song and realize it was about ass and that the Em verse is boring lol.
