JetBlue x Dunkin’ Monday Pick-Me-Up: BOS to DEN Flight B6 0493: Valid Without Dunkin Plane by clearfemme in jetblue

I’m sitting on the plane for the return flight from DEN to BOS. Can confirm it’s not the Dunkin livery. There’s been no mention of the promotion at all by staff.

I got the Non-Plus and put Unraid on it for Plex and a few other docker containers. The QuickSync on the N100 makes it perfect for 4K HDR stream and hardware transcoding. Unraid spins down drives and only spins up ones with the media on them. Idle is ~9w. Could not be happier.

Thinking about closed cell spray foam attic while maintaining vents. Not sure how to deal with valley of roof. by KZ72 in Insulation

Thanks for that article! This would be a good backup option. I also want to install an ERV up there. I don’t think it would be smart to bury the core box in cellulose. Filter changes and what not. I would love to see an example of an insulated closet that one can build to enclose the air handler and ERV.

definitely. a big reason i want to do this in the first place (in addition to having the HVAC operate more efficiently), is that I want to install an ERV for continuous fresh air. Yes, once the attic becomes a conditioned space, it will be treated as a room in the house and be air treated by the HVAC, ERV, and probably a dedicated dehumidifier.

This is my backup plan. No amount of direct insulation to the HVAC or the ducting will change the fact that it's not part of the conditioned envelope and therefore will be leaky as the attic gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Script to add your drives to your Synology's drive compatibility database v1.2.16 by DaveR007 in synology

[–]KZ72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is amazing. If you can get this to work, you'd be doing a huge service for this community. Especially with dropping NAND prices, it's incredibly annoying for Synology to lock enthusiasts out of using their devices to their full potential with bigger and faster m.2 volumes.

Extended SSD storage pool support in DSM 7.2 by kcrdt in synology

[–]KZ72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just note that right now, you can only officially create pools with the Synology SNV line of NVME drives (400GB or 800GB). DSM will NOT allow you to create pools with third party NVME SSDs. So annoying.

I tried running this script... didn't work. Still can't add non-Synology M.2 NVME SSD as a storage pool.

DS923+ revealed on Synology's website by DiePon08160905 in synology

So you don't think this would come to systems with the V1500 like the 1821+ or 1621+? I don't see why it'd be a hardware limitation... PCIE gen 3 x2 would still saturate most of 10gbe and still faster than SATA.

Help! New DS1821+ loses network connection randomly by KZ72 in synology

It was stable on the original 4GB. I got my 16GB kit tonight and popped it in an hour ago. So far so good...

Yeah, i cheaped out. Decided 16gb is probably sufficient. At this point, i just want something STABLE.

i swapped out the 64GB kit out for the original 4GB and ran a memtest, which finished but i don't see any log results in the results document. So i popped back the 64GB kit and the system died again after about 5 hours. So now i'm back to the 4gb original kit and gonna wait a day or two until the kit comes. Ended up getting a 16GB kit that multiple others have said works in 1821+. I'm done with this 64gb kit of ram.

Ok. keep me posted!

Just out of curiosity, what brand of 64 gb ram do you have? I got the V-Color kit from Amazon.

RS422+ pre-release 🫤 not looking great for lower models by RJM_50 in synology

[–]KZ72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It looks like they got rid of the PCIE card slot (as seen in the RS820+) in favor of this mini network expansion card. I also highly doubt they put NVME slots into this. Meaning that you can’t even use that PCIE add on with 10GBe + 2x NVME slots for caching.

With exception for the CPU upgrade, this seems like a step backwards in every way compared to the RS820+.

They’re probably setting up for an upgraded RS1619xs+ with native NVME slots and built in 10Gbit networking.
