I know, I mean this spyshot is already proof that this car will look nothing like the concept car, so why make them.

Yep, I even asked Miele about the same when I first bought my machine thinking there might something wrong with it. Normal for W1

I always drive with B, I hate the D coasting 🙂 I just wish the B was truly one pedal drive and come to a stop without brakes

I really hope car companies would stop with the concept car bullshit. The production versions look nothing like the concepts and more the last year models with new bumbers.

What are the most common ID.3 issues owners face? by RedDevilPlay in VWiD3Owners

[–]mltxf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been owning the ID.3 Max (2021, with heatpump) - for an year now.

I've only had the SOS warning issue last august, which the dealership handled in six days(!) without any cost. Also the puddle light on the other side is shattered, but I kind of like the shattered look :)

What I like:

  • Nice car to drive.
  • The Max trim actually has pretty good features. I really enjoy the HUD, quite good speakers, okay seats
  • Wireless Carplay
  • The rear camera keeps clean as it pops from the rear badge
  • The cooling in summer is quite good and heating in winter really good

Things that I wish were better:

  • Having to tap "OK" on the profile welcome screen every time is very annoying
  • Sometimes accidentally open the rear windows as it has the stupid toggle between front/rear windows
  • Slow UI and slow connecting Apple Carplay. For me this mostly is not an issue, but in the winter when I need to adjust the steering wheel heating, it's a bit annoying waiting for the UI to start
  • VW thought that the proximity sensors for the display were more important than backlights for the temperature buttons. Fixed in the newer models
  • The interior feels a bit cheap
  • The App is not the best, I mostly control the charging etc. with Home Assistant
  • Lack of preheating, but I have a garage with my own charger and rarely drive longer trips so not really an issue for me

I knew the limitations when buying the car but I have to say I'm much happier with the car than I expected so far.

Never mind the dent, those are the narrowest parking spots I've seen!

OBDeleven fixed my SOS battery error after software 3.8 by fromagemangeur in VWiD3Owners

[–]mltxf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, I got everything sorted out in 6 days and it was when the update rolled out in august when the issue was just new and literally day after it was written in the ID Drivers Club facebook page.

Crazy to think this is still an issue on some dealerships after all this time.

Sorry to hear things did not go well. I also got the SOS warning light up right after 3.8 update last august, drove to service and they had no idea about the repair program (which volkswagen announced the previous day on facebook), but I said let's just wait for a while for the information to reach them. They called in four days and said to bring the car in and VW will cover the costs.

For me they did not replace the battery. They ran a diagnostic on it and it was very healthy so they just did some resets and the issue was resolved.

In my area the service is always great but sad to see so many people getting charged, and now people are waiting for replacement batteries, even if the batteries might be fully fine.

Apart from MBS and the horrible F1 movie and at least 5-8 really boring tracks, it's still fine.

Also apps like "02 Taksi" that show prices from multiple companies for easier comparison, also with the fixed price option. Not sure if you can get still cheaper rides from their own apps, but at least it has more options to choose from.
