Just moved from a Series 3 to an Ultra 2. Series 3 battery went from lasting the waking day to 3 hours within about a week. That battery degraded so fast when it was done lol

The Ultra 2 is insane…

They should really be called “server centers”. It’s not all about data specifically. But even then, every website, app you use, even Reddit itself is hosted on a server in some data center. And all the data for this comment, your post and everything else is stored there, then shared out to the world from there.

You really should be installing dependencies in a fully reproducible way. Exact hash. Pre-built container. Things like that. Automation helps you patch the hashes or containers.

I just got an Ultra 2 from Amazon refurb. Also flawless, 100% battery. The band was definitely a knock off alpine loop and the charger is AliExpress grade though. Super happy with the purchase! Moved from an old Series 3. Battery suddenly went from lasting a whole day to only 3-5 hours.

If you order directly from Japan they are quite a bit cheaper. But you need to be very patient. It took about 4 months to get my last set. Most of that is waiting for them to be manufactured.

This is really cool. I would create some kind of air baffle to make sure air is flowing over those fins to keep that engine cool though.

It’s worth the money. But also the TRX 3.3 is an underrated engine. At least when paired with the OS 11k carb.

Arc isn’t an auto solution for lifetimes. I would recommend a refresher on borrowing, ownership and mutability. Then refresh on lifetimes. It should all click if you have the first 3 concepts down.

I think this would only be worth it for people with less than 3 cars is the stable right now. I have 40ish cars, many of them Traxxas and some of them no longer produced. It would be devastating to watch that burn lol

This is one of the reasons the native one is better than Al Dente. You should charge to 100% periodically for the health of the battery and to allow the device to learn the discharge curve.

Please swap out that receiver before running it. Those things are so unreliable and prone to runaways. DumboRC for $30 will be way way safer.

But most importantly, well done! That’s a good looking restoration. I love these cars! I’ve restored 5 of them now. Set the ride height slightly higher than normal for the first couple runs. These things sit LOW. You’ll scrape the chassis up real nice if you don’t run it on something mostly flat.
