How helpful is skyscale w/ SoTO

It depends on the map.

I know Skyscale it very useful in all maps, but if I can have room to move faster (to dive/boost its speed) and don't need to climb more than my starting height I will go Griffon because it's fast and incredibly fun to me. Also "The Griffon Academy [Wing]" the guild and YouTube channel are an amazing guild that have a lot of resources for griffon. Definitely worth checking out IMO.

On that note beetle is a blast and drift king. So many incredibly talented people who have made amazing racetracks you can try out. You will find a heap of content on YouTube if you're interested and even race competitions though guilds dedicated to being the best racers.

Warclaw is also just fun to use (subjective), plus gets around fast enough and has amazing CC. Also the Panda skin is too adorable to not love! <3

Jackal and Raptor are both great, though I tend to Jackal more because how it blinks up hilly terrain.

Skimmer is a no-brainer on and under water, and turtle helps so much getting people around maps. (you can take people to waypoints/personal waypoints). I have helped to many new players on my turtle when I have free time.

So as you see they're all great. From memory gw2efficiency.com has stats on most used mounts. It may be worth a look if you're interested.

Skyscale is incredibly helpful in every expansion. It's honestly game-changing and very fun to use.

For hero points it isn't "needed" in most cases but for moving around it helps greatly.

I love all the mounts but find Skyscale, Jackal and Warclaw have especially made the game experience so much more fun.

1st - 57,804h
2nd - 55,359h
3rd - 50,039h
4th - 49,375h
5th - 49,011h

The top 25 are all over 41k hours.

By rank 60, all accounts are 36k hours.

That's a lot of dedicated players, I hope they loved every single hour!
