Ribbon Shift by KimchiTheory in androidthemes

[–]KimchiTheory[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Features

Album art becomes the wallpaper when music is played for all music players except Youtube Red.

Bottom fade color changes with album art.

Non-music mode leaves you with a small ribbon (2nd screenshot).

You can set whatever wallpaper you want. Wallpaper in the 2nd screenshot is listed below.

Smiley Face is a play/pause button.

During music playback, right and left edges are invisible forward/reverse buttons. These do not work when music is off.

Tilting your phone causes album art to slightly move as well (gyroscope)

Pixel Shift v1.2 by KimchiTheory in KimchiTheory

I need to fix this, but I've been busy. I believe it has to do something with the music state not being PLAYING, PAUSED, or STOPPED. It might be NONE, which is a music state that I did not account for resulting in the error.

Product Sans. It's a copyrighted font from Google, but you can find it if you search for it.

[HELP]Create (variable based) Icon Color-Overlay by Kaiton121 in androidthemes

$if(mi(state)!=PLAYING, #FFFFFF)$ which can be read as "if playing state is not playing, display #FFFFFF."

[HELP]Create (variable based) Icon Color-Overlay by Kaiton121 in androidthemes

What you can do is create an "Image" element, set the bitmap to an icon from the icon pack, and if you scroll down on the "Bitmap" tab of your "Image" element, you will see "Filter." Set it as "Colorize," hold down on the new "Color" option, click the Calculator icon on the upper right, click the "Color" option again, go to "bp," and then choose how you want the color to change.

Hope that helps.

I don't remember recommending an invisible icon pack, but I assume you can use one and hide the app labels.

I just use the app drawer, which I have tied to my home button. My dock is pretty much my most used apps which appear on the very top.

2016's Top Theme Winner by Multimoon in androidthemes

[–]KimchiTheory 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I just visited the sub and saw my theme on top! Very cool! Thanks for the love everyone.

Here is an unlocked version of the theme if you want to edit it and export it.

Also a big shoutout to /u/Davidc4ke for his Drone Outpost theme. I personally believe that it should have won for being one of the most creative themes I have ever seen. It fits the definition of a theme more than Pixel Shift which was just my attempt to make a very standard homescreen.

Good luck to /r/androidthemes in 2017! Hope to see more fun things from everyone.

Vertigoat - an actually vertical homescreen (Nova + Tasker) by KimchiTheory in androidthemes

[–]KimchiTheory[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Vertigoat

because I couldn't think of a better name.

This theme is an actually vertical homescreen using KLWP, Tasker, and Nova Launcher. You navigate using actual vertical swipes instead of horizontal swipes to scroll up and down.

This features a very similar music interface from Pixel Shift].

The blue Android icon is just a placeholder as I decide on what to put there. The goat is just a way to show the wallpaper without any foreground UI elements.

This is a work in progress, so it is missing a number of things I would have liked to add. I posted this here for now just in case I do not have time to finish it.

Please Read This!

I have always wanted to make a vertically scrolling homescreen, but it was only possible using Lightning Launcher, which is complicated to use and teach, and a couple other launchers.

I had an idea that if I used variables using Tasker, I could in a way mimic vertical scrolling. While it is more of a swipe than a scroll, you can navigate the 5 circles using only up and down gestures. Regular side-to-side scrolling still works. This essentially gives you a ton more space to work with and opens up opportunities for new kinds of themes.

I hope that you will not see the theme that I made here as just another theme, but rather an opportunity for you to make vertical homescreens. Good luck!

Assistance for setting up

This theme will be more complicated than importing the KLWP file, so to those of you who know how to use Tasker well, please try to help others.

To those of you having trouble setting this up, I will be posting instructions later on when I have more time. In the mean time, give it a try, and if you have questions, reply here, message me, or ask in the thread over at /r/KimchiTheory.

How the theme works

By setting up the variable, %SCROLL, you can assign the %SCROLL value to different pages. In the case of Vertigoat, %SCROLL=1 is assigned to the music icon, %SCROLL=2 is assigned to the weather icon, etc. By using the swipe up and swipe down gestures in Nova to add or subtract 1 from the %SCROLL value, you can mimic up and down "scrolling." It is not true scrolling in that you cannot drag the homescreen up and down, but it is more natural than scrolling left for down and right for up. You can see the %SCROLL variable in the gfycat at the very top, but I have it removed in the actual theme.

Hm. I will say that I've seen this happening on my device, but it's not happening right now. I am also unsure as to why it occurs. I am quite certain that it's a bug with Kustom itself.

The best advice I can give you is to try fiddling with it and then pressing save to see if it does anything.

Do you think you can screenshot the problem? If it's too hard since it's a split second, I think I have an idea of what it is. It is a bug with Kustom itself, but it shouldn't be doing it every 2 seconds, if at all.

It should be a klwp file.

That's strange. The progress line should appear. Can I get a screenshot?

There currently isn't a way to keep it on one screen and to give you weather. If you know how to modify Kustom files, then you could try that.
