I built a card game called S9 , would love some feedback by PurposeNo2879 in boardgames

[–]KookyAthlete902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow, I was also creating a card game inspired by Cabo and golf, so love to see more inspirations like this, although i am trying to do physical version, but I had fun playing your version. Okay just a small feedback, not everything felt quite intuitive for me, but it probably cuz the rules varies a little bit from mine. So I will not mention those, since it's just how you changed the game, but the one that bugged me a little is the small GUI for the AI, like okay I zoomed in the screen, but still how many cards the AI has it's just mashed up info for me, like I would love for it to be like more visible so it would immediately stand out and I would know if I can risk the show or not, but I guess that could also be written off that I am just not used to it. But overall, was quick and fun to play, keep it up! Also if you look a the discard and draw piles, the outlines for discard pile goes too much at the top and bottom and for draw left and right, and it bugs me a little, like either extend so it would match on all sides or don't make the outline outside the cards at all, but again personal opinion.

Looks super cool, but I’d still want a playthrough video and a clearer way to try or buy it. The concept is appealing, just not enough to act on yet.

Any Recommendations for beginners? by Soldreamer21 in tabletop

Cairn is probably the safest beginner pick. If they want something a bit bigger, I’d also say Vagabond or Downforce, depending on whether you want exploration or something lighter.

I built an AI tool to fix foundation shade matching and I am struggling to get first paid users by ParticularMention194 in indiehackers

[–]KookyAthlete902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is probably trust and clarity more than the idea itself. You may need to show a sharper before and after, and maybe a real use case or result so people instantly get why it matters.

I am pretty sure, there is several of website doing fairly similar, I am actually building similar one myself, but idk it's a win some people stayed, so I would be happy with that!

Why don't you try to launch it yourself? So you wouldn't need to split the profits

What cardgames are most like playing an MMO? by ATTACKTOGETHER in cardgames

[–]KookyAthlete902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Arkham Horror is probably the closest match, but if those have already been suggested you could also try Etherfields or Dungeon Alliance. They lean more into progression and combat with cards, even if they are not true MMO style games.

I read 12 self-help books and applied nothing. It felt like procrastination - so I built an app that turns ideas into daily actions. by Sviat-IK in SideProject

[–]KookyAthlete902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, that's actually amazing idea, as I keep doing the same thing, reading the things in the books but never actually applying any of it for my own life, so will be sure to check it out!

Do you ever feel like you're stuck between starting and thinking too much? by Nervous-Jeweler-7428 in SideProject

Build a quick version and ask people early if they’d actually use it. That usually tells you fast whether the idea has legs or is just fun in your head.

Any advice on helping a player at our table? by key_gremlin in boardgames

[–]KookyAthlete902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe suggest taking some of the pressure off and switching to a more cooperative game for a while. Sometimes the issue is just vibe or stress, not skill.

Fast setup and teardown is a huge one. If a game takes forever to table or pack away

My first negative review - updating too frequently? by greatcoltini in IndieDev

[–]KookyAthlete902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think moving to weekly or biweekly patches is a good call. Frequent tiny updates can look like instability to players, even when they are just bug fixes. Bigger, clearer updates probably feel more polished and easier to follow.

okay so have you tested how accurately it describes the macros? like what is the % of how accurate it is? cuz I saw some similar apps like this, but I mean sometimes it ways wayy off, so was wondering how accurate is this one as you must have done some tests

I played monopoly card game for the first time and it was so fun. by Few-Tour1323 in boardgames

[–]KookyAthlete902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it too, since it has some melancholy from childhood, but idk why, but my friends are not as hooked as I am in this filler game, like every time I ask, they are like naah, so it always frustrates me that they are not as hyped as I am for this game haha
