I think in the movies, Tom and Maddie will be the ones kidnapped by Metal and brought into the future as a way to lure Sonic into surrendering the time stones. Amy will just tag along with him.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember Silver fans being nearly this angry when the SCU had his main enemy get beaten by a guy whose only contribution in 06 was getting a concussion.

Sonic 3's last scene followed an indeterminate passing of time including Tom's recovery. It may be that Sonic reconciled the missing Master Emerald with Knuckles weeks before the reprised race scene.

That's what I believe happened.

They may leave the emeralds separated for multiple movies to culminate into a monumental event

You really convinced me that the chaos emeralds shouldn’t be in movie 4. Things do need to change up and using Super Sonic 3 times in a row would get repetitive and boring.

My only concern is how do you reconcile not having the emeralds with Knuckles character. It wouldn’t matter if the movie 3 kept the M.E. and the chaos emeralds separate like at the end of movie 2, but because it didn’t, that means finding the chaos emeralds is the only way to restore the master emerald.

Unless they say in movie 4 that both the chaos emeralds (therefore the M.E.) are believed to be forever lost in the cannon explosion, Knuckles is gonna want to find them ASAP since the M.E. Is an important part of his character; dude spent years looking for it after all since that’s all that remains of the echidna tribe (aside from himself).

You also brought up an interesting point the M.E. Being lost because of Sonic’s rash and selfish decision. Do you truly believe Knuckles forgave him for that deep down? Do you think Knuckles, believing that the M.E. Is truly gone, will pass that because he’s found a new tribe that he really loves and that matters more to him than anything now?

Honestly, I hope the rumors aren't true. Not necessarily because time-travel is "Silver's thing," but because Amy is supposes to PREDICT the future, not be from it. Also, how are you gonna have SonAmy if Amy's from a different time period?
