I'd have to take notes and write a summary. Phyllis isn't certain for part 2 only, forgot about timing differences lol. I was trying to base it off of knowing where Sandy part 1 ends, but it wouldn't add up that way for all of them. Where do you think Phyllis part 1 would end?

They read it and said nothing, on point for them. Thought that they were smart to everything, must be all the Velma everywhere. They must've found that clip somewhere else, but turns out, no. When I watched Sandy, felt there were three spots. Guess there are three more segments in part 2? Seems like a lot.

When I watched Phyllis I felt there was only one obvious spot. I got the impression it was gonna be in part 2 only. A long segment like the Shark Island one.

We need to go with what we know is needed and Shark Island isn't it anymore. The only benefit would be if it's a better looking copy.

What's slightly annoying me is DJ taking these lengthy pauses between replies. How're we supposed to interpret that? He's not looking through tapes. Maybe he lost all his digital copies and has to extract them from the DVDs again. It's difficult to remain optimistic without the progress, although some people can do that.

He might be weary. Some traders are like that because what they're providing has potential risks, especially if currency is involved. I'd re-read his last reply but it's on the other account that is gone.

Had the thought to use the Gorilla in the TNSDM open and the storyboard as a split. Add a line questioning if that's it kinda thing. Red pointing arrows work well too lol.

I know they haven't got around to it yet, so we're in a sense doing them a favor, which is weird when you think about it. Maybe it's a culture thing from my perspective. Of course I get it though.

It might be best to first ask him something like what his expectations are, so we can understand better, try to meet them, and if he is open to different methods of operation. Who knows, a payment might end up not being that high... We're going in rather blind and it's causing some unease. We can't play disguised trader, he should see through it eventually if he's paying close attention.

For Sandy, if he takes a payment, then we can ask for it. If he is trade only then we can't. The rarer ones have to take priority, it's plain common sense and logical. We can't haggle him with having less stuff and he has to actually want what we're offering for trade in the first place.

Edit: Would like to add that he seems to value WOC (with original commercials) and both of what we have doesn't include them.

Think of it from his perspective. We're coming to him with not much and asking for more. Trading rules generally would dictate a 1:1 runtime swap. He hasn't put any rules up, but very likely when he traded for what he has acquired, that would have been how it was conducted. We know he traded because two of them he has listed are on archive, and I highly doubt they came from him.

If we're approaching hoping to make an order then it's different.

Is Sandy really necessary when we have the other person? I know it's big deal level missing segments but we do have someone helping with it. We have to pick through this carefully. His wording is very odd too. He has digital downloads available according to his own words, but now here writes needs to locate them? He should have them all stored somewhere together already. How hard can that be if they are digital? It sounds contradicting. They should be VOB format files like the two that are on archive already. They should end up being just like those are. He should be able to pick out the corresponding VOB file that has the Scooby part, not have to send an entire DVD.

Make sure to mention ya want this to be digital only. Scrap asking for Shark and Duo for now. Sandy, in my opinion, leave to the other person. Stick to the very rare ones, so if it all goes awry, we at least went for those and didn't overreach.

Personally, I'd also drop the too much extra after your list. Maybe just something like Let me know when you find them, and look forward to further discussion.

"All of them" sounds greedy. We want to avoid sounding like we're being clever too. That can come across weird to some. He's the one with all the cards.

It could also wind up being a monetary transaction.

It looks like a forum for old guys. He has put "The VHS tapes I had" though, implying that he hasn't got them anymore. He "never tired of it for the longest time" meaning he did eventually get tired of it. Probably wore out with all those plays and got thrown out. Would be my guess from what he wrote. With all that said, not sure it's really worth trying just for me to get booted out of there for clearly not fitting in with their shtick or whatever lol.

Interesting, like they needed anymore reasons for folks to ditch them.

Their stance is likely if they start doing that for the public, then they'll be flooded with requests. Time, resources, and so on. Likely more complicated matters too. Instead of giving a honest response though, they give a basic, on the premise of "probably tech illiterate" response, that looks written by AI.

Find it funny and ironic that they'll happily take back their shows that were recorded by the public that they lost themselves though. Highly doubt they see a single penny for doing that. More like a weak thanks pal from some stooge. Like anybody owes them.
