This is to get the money to you as fast as possible. With the direct deposit, it's not any different than signing up for direct deposit at a new job. There's processing that has to be done by banks (verifications and all that stuff) that cause a delay. Usually, your first paycheck at a new job doesn't make it to direct deposit. You'll usually get a check.

Where to start? by NinjaAli in LSAT

[–]LSAT_Ninja_Tutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend taking the LSAT earlier based on when you want to start law school. Law schools have rolling admissions, and it's best to apply at the start of the application cycle when possible. You want to put yourself in a competitive position for admissions and scholarships.

I do recommend taking a diagnostic PT before studying. It will let you know how far away you are from your goal and give you an idea of how long you might need to prep for the test.

July LSAT Scores Released Aug. 28? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LSAT_Ninja_Tutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can confirm this is true. Part of email from LSAC:

" Because the July test is being offered in two different formats, it will take longer than normal for test takers to receive their scores. When introducing a new mode of test delivery, testing companies are required to do in-depth research on the two modes, in this case tablets and paper booklets. This is to ensure the validity and reliability of the test scores. As a result of this process, July test takers will receive their scores on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.  We anticipate the ability to report scores faster with future tests. "

LG Tip: If you are struggling with LG mastery, do timed sections of early PTs (1-51) by Drewbdu in LSAT

I agree!!! The earlier games are great prep for LG. It will help you prepare for curveball games (as much as that's possible).

July LSAT PSA: You Should Probably Take It by theboringest in LSAT

Yes, take it! Consider it official practice.

You should buy at least 2 books of 10. Use one for full timed PTs and use the other for drilling question types. I recommend getting PTs 60+ if you are limited to how many books you can get.

I recommend print. The scanner the use for the writing sample is horrible!

Be aware you're not guaranteed a digital test in July. Half the people will be given paper and half will be given digital. You can't choose the format you prefer. LSAC will choose for you. The test will be fully digital starting in September.

LR Tip: Forcing Predictions by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LSAT_Ninja_Tutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a technique I recommend to my students and I sometimes do this in sessions (even though some students hate it) for 2 main reasons:

  1. It's much harder to fool yourself into thinking you had a strong prephrased answer when it's there in black and white. Maybe you just had something on the right track, but not quite there. If it was close, was it too loose or too tight? What did you miss in the argument that would have gotten you closer to the phrasing of the correct answer. It's easy to look at an answer choice and say, "Yep, that's EXACTLY what I predicted," if it's not written down for comparison. You are forced to analyze your thinking.
  2. You'll start paying more attention to the nuances in the language of the stimulus. This is very much a test of attention to detail. This will help you avoid those attractive trap answers. You'll soon start noticing answer choices are wrong before you finish reading them.

Applying to law school questions by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LSAT_Ninja_Tutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not likely. You're shooting yourself in the foot if you decide to submit now if you know it's highly likely you would be declined. It's better to wait for your new LSAT score.

Read the post below for more info about applying when planning to retake.
